The rate of radiographic joint space narrowing is commonly used today as a structural outcome measure in clinical trials evaluating potential disease-modifying drugs in patients with hip osteoarthritis, but this results in a continuous variable. The purpose of this study was to investigate LE muscular strength variables as potential risk factors for all and non‐contact acute knee and ACL injuries in young athletes. A total of 188 young (≤21) male and 174 female basketball and floorball players participated in LE muscular strength tests and were followed up to three years. The strength test battery consisted of 1RM leg press, maximal concentric isokinetic (60°/s) quadriceps and hamstrings and maximal isometric hip abductor strength. The occupation of dental assistants (DAs) involves many health risks of the musculoskeletal system due to static and prolonged work, which can lead to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). The aim of the study was to investigate the prevalence of MSDs in DAs in Germany. Osteoporosis is a noncommunicable disease with increasing incidence at a global level. The burden of the disease particularly concerns women. A drastic and rapid decline in the circulating levels of estrogens, a key regulator of bone metabolism, is responsible for the increase in bone loss after menopause. Cells with a role in bone metabolism, osteoblasts, osteoclasts and osteocytes, have estrogen receptors. The fall in estrogens increases the differentiation of osteoclasts from progenitors in the bone marrow. A significant expansion in the resorption process follows.

Glucocorticoids (GCs) are the mainstay of treatment for patients with polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR).1 Despite their efficacy, GCs are associated with well-known adverse events and a substantial proportion of patients with PMR do not respond adequately, or are refractory, to initial GC treatment.
