La correcta aplicación de un procedimiento de prevención de impactos y protección al patrimonio arqueológico, desarrollado con motivo de la implantación de una línea eléctrica de alta tensión, permitió en 2013 el hallazgo de una necrópolis junto al Cerro de las Cabezas (Valdepeñas, Ciudad Real). Hasta el momento se desconocía la localización del área funeraria de este gran oppidum. Las catorce tumbas documentadas durante esta breve intervención (catorce días de trabajo) corresponden a los enterramientos de cremaciones en urnas, con piezas de ajuar asociadas como fusayolas, fíbulas, armas y recipientes cerámicos. AbstractDuring the Cloud and Aerosol Characterization Experiment (CLACE) 2013 field campaign at the High Altitude Research Station Jungfraujoch, Switzerland, optically thin pure ice clouds and ice crystal precipitation were measured using holographic and other in situ particle instruments. For cloud particles, particle images, positions in space, concentrations, and size distributions were obtained, allowing one to extract size distributions classified by ice crystal habit. Small ice crystals occurring under conditions with a vertically thin cloud layer above and a stratocumulus layer approximately 1 km below exhibit similar properties in size and crystal habits as Antarctic/Arctic diamond …

Thus, knowledge of summer temperatures can be very useful both for the general public and for organizations whose workers operate in the open. An accurate forecasting of summer maximum and minimum temperatures could help to predict heatwave conditions and permit the implementation of strategies aimed at minimizing the negative effects that high temperatures have on human health. Real-time weather forecasting in the Western Mediterranean Basin: An application of the RAMS model

Abstract A regional forecasting system based on the Regional Atmospheric Modeling System (RAMS) is being run at the CEAM Foundation. The model is started twice daily with a forecast range of 72 h. For the period June 2007 to August 2010 the verification of the model has been done using a series of automatic meteorological stations from the CEAM network and located within the Valencia Region (Western Mediterranean Basin). Air temperature, relative humidity and wind speed and direction of the output of the model have been compared with observations.
