Promocijas darbā “Verbālā inspirācija kā atbilde teoloģiskajai krīzei – implikācijas Latvijas teoloģiskajā diskursā” autors analizē Bībeles verbālās inspirācijas domas vēsturi un aizstāv tēzi, ka verbālās inspirācijas doktrīna kristietībā ir veidojusies sasaistē ar dažādām teoloģiskajām krīzēm. Kā viens no teoloģiskās krīzes un ticības Bībeles verbālai inspirācijai rezultātiem tiek aplūkots arī kristīgais fundamentālisms un tā vēsturiskā ietekme uz kristīgo ticību Latvijā. Teacher-Student Relations in Two Tibetan Buddhist Groups in Helsinki

AbstractBased on sixteen interviews with members of two Tibetan Buddhist groups in Helsinki, Finland, this article investigates how the role of the guru, power imbalance and power abuse are perceived by the students. This qualitative study aims at understanding what shape the reverence to the Vajrayana teacher takes in the egalitarian environment of a European country, where Buddhism is a relatively new phenomenon. The interviews show that while teachers are not losing importance, ways of choosing and paying respect to them changes. They also reveal confusion in defining abuse, and emphasis on personal agency and teachers’ accountability for avoiding it.

Orthodox–Evangelical relationships are dominated by proselytism (at least in Eastern Europe and in the former Soviet Union). This is understood as church conversion practiced through unfair means among people who are already Christians, belonging to so-called “historical churches.” However, beyond it, there is a real potential for cooperation using moral values as a starting point. A discussion of the relevance of organizational theoretical perspectives for change in congregations The purpose of this article is to discuss the contribution to congregations of theoretical perspectives on change in the organizational literature. The contribution of the discussion is on the evaluation of the relevance. Just recently, the autobiography of Susanne Bonhoeffer, the younger sister of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, has been rediscovered. She has bequeathed an excellent and extensive description of her family’s life and reveals new insights about the Bonhoeffer family and the history of her time. Her work will be a substantial contribution to further research. Each individual constructs his own private worldview using elements from established worldview traditions. The biographical character of this formation makes this the individual’s “Unique Worldview Construction” (UWC). The purpose of this theoretical study is to analyse the dynamic relationship between the individual and her own UWC. It describes more how than what he believes in or denies.
