Factors associated with the timing of diagnosis of venous thromboembolism: results from the MASTER registry

INTRODUCTION: Signs and symptoms of venous thromboembolism (VTE) are non-specific and thus can make diagnosis difficult, even for an experienced clinician. We aimed to evaluate the timing of diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) in Italian hospitals and to identify individual and clinical predictors of timely or delayed diagnosis. MATERIAL AND METHODS: MASTER is a multicenter prospective registry of patients with acute DVT and PE. Information on clinical presentation and diagnostic methods, temporary and permanent risk factors, were captured by an electronic data network at the time of the index event. The study of auxiliary verbs in compound tenses («haver» vs. «Ésser») in Old Catalan is a topic discussed in many works. But no research deeply analysing literary works of the time and using an accurate methodology is available. Our purpose is to show that so significant medieval literary works such as «Llibre de Meravelles» by Ramon Llull, «Llibre dels Fets» by King James I & «Tirant lo Blanch», can also provide very valuable information to understand the phenomenon of change of auxiliary. Referring to usage frequencies, we show that chronology plays a great role in these alternations and outline a whole series of factors that explain the observed evolutive tendencies.

Jyväsjärven ympäristöhistoriaa ja ekologisen tilan muuttumista 1700-luvulta nykypäiviin selvitettiin eliöjäänteiden ja sedimentin fysikaalisten ja kemiallisten ominaisuuksien perusteella. Liejunäytteistä tutkittiin 32 alkuaineen ja orgaanisten haitta-aineiden, kuten hartsihappojen, PCB:n, DDT:n ja sen hajoamistuotteiden esiintymistä sekä piilevien ja surviaissääsken toukkien jäänteitä. Tämän ajanjakson, runsaan kahden vuosisadan aikana Jyväsjärvi muuttui erämaajärvestä kaupunkijärveksi. Tämä jakso sisältyy Jyväsjärvessä noin 80 cm:n paksuiseen liejukerrokseen. L'analisi delle tensioni residue nel vetro viene solitamente effettuata mediante metodi fotoelastici. Questo lavoro considera l'automazione del metodo fotoelastico in luce bianca basato sull'uso congiunto della fotoelasticità RGB e di una lastra a tinta sensibile (full wave plate o tint plate), che manifesta il ritardo di un ordine di frangia, posta in serie alla lastra di vetro. Il metodo proposto è stato applicato all’analisi delle tensioni residue membranali in un vetro temperato.
