H<inf>∞</inf> control for stochastic switched delay systems with missing measurements: An average dwell time approach
2012
In this paper, the problem of non-fragile observer-based H ∞ control for discrete-time switched delay systems is investigated. Both data missing and time delays are taken into account in the links from sensors to observers and from controllers to actuators. Such problem is transformed into an H ∞ control problem for stochastic switched delay systems. Average dwell time (ADT) approach is used to obtain sufficient conditions on the solvability of such problems. An example is provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
Asynchronously switched control of discrete impulsive switched systems with time delays
2013
This paper is concerned with the stabilization problem for a class of uncertain discrete impulsive switched delay systems under asynchronous switching. The so-called asynchronous switching means that the switches between the candidate controllers and system modes are asynchronous. By using the average dwell time (ADT) approach, sufficient conditions for the existence of an asynchronously switched controller is derived such that the resulting closed-loop system is exponentially stable. The desired controller gains and the admissible switching signals are obtained in terms of a set of matrix inequalities. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
Non-fragile H ∞ control for switched stochastic delay systems with application to water quality process
2013
SUMMARY In this paper, the problem of non-fragile observer-based H ∞ control for discrete-time switched delay systems is investigated. Both data missing and time delays are taken into account in the links from sensors to observers and from controllers to actuators. Because data missing satisfies the Bernoulli distribution, such problem is transformed into an H ∞ control problem for stochastic switched delay systems. Average dwell time approach is used to obtain sufficient conditions on the solvability of such problems. A numerical example and a real example for water quality control are provided to illustrate the effectiveness and potential applications of the proposed techniques. Copyrig…
Exponential stability analysis of Markovian jump nonlinear systems with mixed time delays and partially known transition probabilities
2013
In this paper, the problem of exponential stability is studied for a class of Markovian jump neutral nonlinear systems with mixed neutral and discrete time delays. By Lyapunov-Krasovskii function approach, a novel mean-square exponential stability criterion is derived for the situation that the system's transition rates are partially or completely accessible. Finally, some numerical examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.
Color memory matching: Time effect and other factors
1998
The methods of simultaneous and successive, or memory, color matching have been compared for 10 color reference samples distributed in two groups each performed by 50 observers (25 men and 25 women). Our results, obtained with a total of two hundred Munsell color chips arrayed on ten gray cardboard panels, indicate that: (a) while by simultaneous matching the mean color differences obtained are, in most cases, lower than 1 CIELAB unit, those obtained by memory are generally higher; (b) the worst remembered colors are yellow, light green, blue, and pink, and the best remembered color is orange; (c) the influence of the delay time (15 s, 15 min, and 24 h) is significant for the remembered mea…
Quantum correlation of electron and ion energy in the dissociative strong-field ionization of H2
2023
We report on the strong field ionization of H2 by a corotating two-color laser field. We measure the electron momentum distribution in coincidence with the kinetic energy release (KER) of dissociating hydrogen molecules. In addition to a characteristic half-moon structure, we observe a low-energy structure in the electron momentum distribution at a KER of about 3.5 eV. We speculate that the outgoing electron interacts with the molecular ion, despite the absence of classical recollisions under these conditions. Time-dependent density functional theory simulations support our conclusions.
A time domain triangle method approach to estimate actual evapotranspiration: Application in a Mediterranean region using MODIS and MSG-SEVIRI produc…
2016
Abstract In this study, spatially distributed estimates of regional actual evapotranspiration (ET) were obtained using a revised procedure of the so called “triangle method” to parameterize the Priestley–Taylor ϕ coefficient. In the procedure herein proposed, named Time-Domain Triangle Method (TDTM), the triangular feature space was parameterized considering pairs of T s –VI values obtained by exploring, for each pixel, only their temporal dynamics. This new method was developed using time series products provided by MODIS and MSG-SEVIRI sensors. Moreover the proposed procedure does not depend on ancillary data, and it is only based on remotely sensed vegetation indices and day–night time l…
Analytically solvable Hamiltonians for quantum two-level systems and their dynamics
2014
A simple systematic way of obtaining analytically solvable Hamiltonians for quantum two-level systems is presented. In this method, a time-dependent Hamiltonian and the resulting unitary evolution operator are connected through an arbitrary function of time, furnishing us with new analytically solvable cases. The method is surprisingly simple, direct, and transparent and is applicable to a wide class of two-level Hamiltonians with no involved constraint on the input function. A few examples illustrate how the method leads to simple solvable Hamiltonians and dynamics.
Una tabla inédita de Fernando Yáñez y nueva luz sobre su estancia en Almedina (1518-1525)
2020
The contribution presents a new acquisition for the catalog of Fernando Yáñez, a Holy Family dating back to 1523, shedding new light on the artist?s production in the third decade of the sixteenth century during his return to Almedina, his birthplace, in a time frame that divides the works for Valencia, like the retablo mayor for the city?s cathedral, from his altarpieces for Cuenca.
Efficient thermo-optically controlled Mach-Zhender interferometers using dielectric-loaded plasmonic waveguides
2012
Compact fiber-coupled dielectric-loaded plasmonic Mach-Zehnder interferometers operating at telecom wavelengths and controlled via the thermo-optic effect are reported. Two fabricated structures with Cytop substrate and a ridge made of PMMA or a cycloaliphatic acrylate polymer (CAP) were considered showing low switching power of 2.35 mW and switching time in the range of microseconds for a CAP ridge and milliseconds switching time for a PMMA ridge. Full output modulation is demonstrated for the structure with a CAP ridge and 40% modulation with a PMMA ridge.
