Reservoir monitoring using satellite SAR and GNSS: a case study in southern Italy

Recently, it has been demonstrated that it is possible to relate water levels of a reservoir with its dam displacements. Water levels were determined via remote sensing, while dam displacements were measured via Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). Results have shown that displacements and water levels are correlated.Water levels at the Magazzolo reservoir in southern Italy were firstly retrieved using two remote sensing approaches: by visual matching between the reservoir shoreline and contour lines, and by evaluating the surface extent via unsupervised classification to estimate the water levels with an area/depth relation. A reverse engineering approach to measure the deformations of a sailing yacht

In this work, a multidisciplinary experience, aimed to study the permanent deformations of the hull of a regatta sailing yacht is described. In particular, a procedure to compare two different surfaces of the hull of a small sailing yacht, designed and manufactured at the University of Palermo, has been developed. The first one represents the original CAD model while the second one has been obtained by means of a reverse engineering approach. In realtà, la situazione della “gestione dei rifiuti” risulta essere assai più complessa di quanto emerga dai media nazionali. Il lavoro illustra le fasi di realizzazione del rilevamento architettonico dell’Istituto Agrario Castelnuovo di Palermo. Le operazioni di rilevamento sono state eseguite quale supporto al progetto di restauro. L’area di pertinenza dell’Istituto è costituita da vari edifici a diversa destinazione d’uso e da un esteso parco. Oggetto di questo studio è l’edificio principale del Ginnasio, realizzato dall’architetto Antonino Gentile nella prima metà del XIX secolo. This volume is the result of a collaboration between the two Universities of Palermo and Göttingen, who have been cooperating for a decade, implementing an intense exchange of experiences in the field of teaching and research, as part of the double degree in master's degree in archeology. We took the opportunity to study some aspects of archaeological research on Roman Sicily, after twenty years of intense activity on the island both by Italian universities and several foreign universities. The title of the seminar with its binary terms, city and territory, monumentalization and economy, crisis and development, aims to reflect the complexity of the situation of the island in Roman times.

La ricerca svolta affronta le problematiche connesse con la fase di pianificazione ed esecuzione delle riprese fotogrammetriche da SAPR multirotore, con la fase di processamento di blocchi fotogrammetrici e con la valutazione degli aspetti metrici. In particolare, lo scopo della tesi è quello di definire delle procedure di rilievo da SAPR e di analizzare le problematiche connesse con la modellazione tridimensionale da dati SAPR tramite software SfM/fotogrammetrici.
