Analysis of wave energy conversion process

Since wave energy conversion technologies are developing due to the depletion of fossil fuels and due to their hazardous effects on the environment, an important and unexploited source of energy is wave energy. The paper proposes to compare theoretical data obtained using specialized software and data obtained via laboratory measurements using a scale model, regarding the mechanical torque generated at the axis of the electric motor. The data collected represent the kinetic and potential energy, simulating Black Sea waves using an installation proposed to be patented, an installation that converts off-shore wave energy.

A very common configuration of V-belt variators for motorcycles considers the correction of the belt tensioning depending on the resistant torque by means of suitable helical-shaped tracks allowing the driven half-pulleys to close/open. Domain wall motion in a diffusive weak ferromagnet

We study the domain wall motion in a disordered weak ferromagnet, induced by injecting a spin current from a strong ferromagnet. Starting from the spin diffusion equation describing the spin accumulation in the weak ferromagnet, we calculate the force and torque acting on the domain wall. We also study the ensuing domain wall dynamics, and suggest a possible measurement method for detecting the domain wall motion via measuring the additional resistance.

Introduction: Mixed stimulation programs (MIX) that switch from constant frequency trains (CFT) to variable frequency trains have been proposed to offset the rapid fatigue induced by CFT during electrical stimulation. However, this has never been confirmed with long stimulation patterns, such as those used to evoke functional contractions. This study investigated the effects of a 6-week combined electromyostimulation (EMS) and gymnastic training program on muscle strength and vertical jump performance of prepubertal gymnasts. Sixteen young women gymnasts (age 12.4 ± 1.2 yrs) participated in this study, with 8 in the EMS group and the remaining 8 as controls. EMS was conducted on knee extensor muscles for 20 minutes 3 times a week during the first 3 weeks and once a week during the last 3 weeks.
