In the early 2000’s, a new component of the cost of reproduction was proposed: oxidative stress. Since then the oxidative cost of reproduction hypothesis has, however, received mixed support. Different arguments have been provided to explain this. Among them, the lack of a life history perspective on most experimental tests was suggested. We manipulated the levels of a key intracellular antioxidant (glutathione) in captive zebra finches (Taeniopygia guttata) during a short period of early life and subsequently tested the oxidative cost of reproduction. Profit vs morality: how unfair is labor market discrimination? Results from a survey experiment

Using an original survey-experimental protocol, we study the normative acceptability of the trade-off between immoral profit (discrimination) and costly morality (non-discrimination). We test the causal influence of three factors: i) the origin of discrimination, ii) the steepness of the morality/profit trade-off and iii) anti-discriminatory moral injunctions. Contrasting with past experimental and attitudinal studies, we find that a significant minority of respondents believe that labor market discrimination is acceptable when morality results in profit loss. Šī pētījuma mērķis ir uzsvērt ES un ASV tirdzniecības dinamiku un paredzēt tās gaidāmos scenārijus. Metodoloģija ietver teorētisko un empīrisko analīzi. Pārbaudot tirdzniecības ietekmējošos faktorus, tiek sadalītas OLS regresijas no tirdzniecības smaguma modeļa, lai pārbaudītu šādus piecus mainīgos: TTIP sarunu process, IKP uz vienu iedzīvotāju, kopējā zemes platība, FDI un kopīgā valoda. Kopējais novērojums ir 308, aptverot ES-28 un ASV laikposmā no 2009. līdz 2019. gadam. Manufacturing export performance and public capital: an analysis by country technology position

The objective of this paper is to examine the relationship between public capital and manufacturing export performance. It also aims at investigating whether this relationship depends on the proximity of a country's technology frontier. To achieve this, we adopted a methodology that estimates the elasticities of public capital as a non-rival factor in a model that considers factor intensity as a mechanism of industrial development. We use an interaction model with panel data from 1999 to 2014 across 35 advanced and less advanced countries.
