This chapter discusses early immersion in a minority language in two bilingual countries, Canada and Finland. In Canada, immersion in the minority language, French, has been implemented since the mid-1960s and Finland introduced immersion in Swedish in the mid-1980s. As the core features of immersion education evolve in tandem with second language education theorizing (particularly as it relates to the interdependence and hybridity between and within languages), so too does the need to revisit the relevance of these core features across different contexts. When studying music, skills are often practised with a teacher, face-to-face, in a classroom. What are the experiences of classroom teacher trainees when music teaching becomes asynchronous, i.e., an individually completed online course? This question, among other things, was explored at a Finnish University's Teacher Education Department in autumn 2020, resulting in the production of a two-credit online music course on the Moodle learning environment. Maģistra darbs ir uzrakstīts angļu valodā uz 47 lapām, tas satur 19 attēlus, 14 tabulas un 51 atsauci uz literatūras avotiem. Mērķis bija novērtēt fiksācijas disparitātes saistību ar konverģences nepietiekamību. Pētījumam bija divas daļas: 1. grupā bija 5 dalībnieki ar konverģences nepietiekamību, kas veica 12 nedēļu ilgu redzes terapiju, lai izvērtētu tās ietekmi uz binokulārajām funkcijām, lasīšanas ātrumu, CISS vērtējumu un fiksācijas disparitāti; 2. grupā bija 51 dalībnieks, kuri aizpildīja CISS aptauju un veica fiksācijas disparitātes mērījumus, lai izvērtētu šo divu parametru saistību. This dissertation explored the effects of strength and balance training (SBT) as part of a multimodal geriatric intervention on physical functioning and health-related factors associated with training participation in a community-dwelling population aged 75 years and over. Bakalaura darbs ir uzrakstīts angļu valodā uz 27. lappasspusēm, satur 12 attēlus, 1. tabulu un tajā ir atsauksmes uz 21. literatūras avotu. Darba mērķis ir novērtēt redzes asumu uzlabojošo treniņu efektivitāti. Viens no iemesliem pazeminātai redzei var būt palielināta tuvuma slodze, kā arī pazeminātas spējas veikt dažādus vizuālos uzdevumus. Trenējot šīs spējas, redzes sistēma labāk pielāgojas palielinātai tuvuma slodzei. Pētījumā piedalījās 24 bērni, kuriem tika doti dažādi redzes treniņi 3 mēnešu periodā. Tässä artikkelissa tarkastellaan pedagogisia käytänteitä, jotka tukevat kiinnittymistä sekä kielen ja sisältöjen rinnakkaista oppimista ammatillisessa koulutuksessa. Tiimietnografinen haastattelu- ja havainnointiaineisto kerättiin ammatillisessa oppilaitoksessa kahtena lukuvuonna. Osallistujat ovat myöhään suomalaiselle koulupolulle tulleita maahanmuuttotaustaisia nuoria aikuisia. Näiden seitsemän opiskelijan lisäksi haastateltiin neljäätoista opetus- ja ohjaushenkilökunnan jäsentä. Aineisto analysoitiin teoriaohjaavalla sisällönanalyysilla, jossa hyödynnettiin ekologista, osallistumista painottavaa lähestymistapaa kielen ja sisältöjen oppimiseen.
