Monocyte Chemoattractant Protein-1 Serum Levels in Patients with Breast Cancer

The chemokine monocyte chemoattractant protein (MCP)-1 is thought to be involved in breast carcinogenesis. We evaluated MCP-1 serum levels in patients with breast cancer (n = 135), ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) I-III (n = 30), benign breast lesions (n = 143) and in healthy women (n = 27). We determined the value of MCP-1 serum levels as a differentiation marker between malignant, preinvasive and benign breast diseases and as a predictive marker for the biological phenotype of breast carcinoma. Background Benign tumors of the salivary glands are a group of lesions with varied histopathological and clinical spectrum. The aim was to determine the incidence and clinicopathological characteristics of benign salivary gland neoplasms diagnosed between 2007 and 2016 in a single center located in northeastern Brazil. Material and Methods Records regarding sex, age, anatomical location, histopathological subtype and treatment were retrieved, and data were analyzed using the Stata/IC software (version 12.0). Peritoneal sarcomatosis 5 years after laparoscopic morcellation of uterine leiomyoma.

In 2011, a 40-year-old woman underwent laparoscopic myomectomy with intraabdominal morcellation. Histology report showed leiomyoma without atypia, necrosis, or mitosis. In 2016, she complained of left lower quadrant pain; ultrasound examination revealed a left hypogastric mass in the site of trocar placement. Percutaneous biopsy results showed a low-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma (LGESS). At laparoscopy, we observed: multiple nodules on uterine serosa, left annex, vesical peritoneum (Figure 1), Douglas pouch (Supplementary Video1), previous left pelvic trocar site (Figure 2), greater omentum (Figure 3), and right/left diaphragm.

With every unitary free module of rank 2 there is naturally associated a generalized affine plane (e.g. the lines are just the cosets of all nonzero 1-generated submodules). Here we solve the converse problem by coordinatizing a given generalized affine plane which satisfies certain versions of Desargues' postulate.
On the algebraic representation of projectively embeddable affine geometries

The main result of this article is an application of [1] and [2] which yields that an at least 2-dimensional affine geometry is module-induced if and only if it is projectively embeddable into an Arguesian projective lattice geometry.
