Arbitration, as a means of conciliation, had an extraordinary diffusion in the Medieval West. It had the advantage of being more quick and, generally, less expensive that the causes resolved by the ordinary courts. Moreover, it tried to reconcile the interests of the warring parties. This paper seeks to define the main features of the arbitration in the kingdom of Valencia during the Middle Ages focusing the observation on the small rural community of Vilafranca.

Projecte d'investigació-acció: Violència escolar i integració social

En aquest treball es presenta el Projecte d'Investigació-Acció realitzat pel grup Lisis de la Universitat de València. Des del model ecològic, l'interès està a analitzar i prevenir la conducta violenta entre iguals a l'escola. Per a això s'ha aplicat en una mostra de 1319 adolescents d'edats compreses entre els 11 i els 16 anys una bateria d'instruments. En aquest article s'exposa, a tall d'exemple, un dels models d'equacions estructurals calculats en aquesta investigació. En concret s'analitza l'efecte directe i l'indirecte del clima familiar en la conducta violenta entre iguals i en el context escolar.
De la violència escolar a la convivència pacífica: elements clau en la intervenció

En aquest treball, per començar, s'hi defi neix la violència escolar i s'hi indica la seua incidència. A continuació, s'hi analitzen els principals factors escolars que poden afavorir les conductes violentes en el context escolar, i en els quals es pot intervenir per millorar les relacions entre alumnes i el clima de convivència escolar. Finalment, s'hi descriuen breument dos programes d'intervenció psicosocial, els objectius dels quals se centren en la millora de la integració social de l'alumnat i en el desenvolupament de la convivència escolar: el programa Galatea i el programa Conviure
