This article studies the nationalistic rhetoric in Emerson’s “The American Scholar.” It argues that if the current critical tendency to downplay the essay’s nationalism can be seen as a welcome corrective to certain traditional readings, the address, in fact, includes a significant presence of embedded nationalistic rhetoric that has largely been ignored. INTRODUCCIÓN La anatomía del recto, localizado en la parte posterior de la cavidad pélvica, supone un reto para los cirujanos colorrectales ya que, aunque anatómicamente representa un área poco extensa, supone, sin embargo, un área con una densidad estructural y funcional muy importantes. Para abordar el espacio retrorrectal y la estructura anatómica que lo limita por delante, el recto, es de primordial interés el dominio anatómico para evitar dañar estructures orgánicas que supongan una elevada morbilidad postoperatoria o una falta de radicalidad oncológica.
