The paper analyses the discursive features of Charles Badham's travelogues in Sicily in the context of the XIX century Travel Writing development. The travelogues are peculiar in their textual hybridity, blending some of the traditional discursive paradigms of the late Grand Tour travelogues and some of the conventional categories of the exploration and scientific accounts on the imperial frontier proper of the second half of the XIX century. “To be everywhere” and “see everything” is a declaration by Father Euzebiusz Franciszek Stateczny, a well-known Silesian writer from the turn of the 20th century, and an extraordinary monk and tenacious traveller, who in a true positivist fashion valued the truth about the world based on one’s own experience. Mācību grāmatas ir vienas no visbiežāk izmantotiem materiāliem valodas apguvei. Šī darba mērķis ir analizēt eseju rakstīšanas uzdevumu veidus B2 līmenī. Mērķa sasniegšanai tika veikta satura analīze “High Note 4” un “Focus 4” mācību grāmatu komplektiem. Rezultāti parādīja, ka vairums uzdevumu ir eseju rakstīšana, kuros studentiem ir jāizstrādā rakstisks darbs vai jāieraksta trūkstošos saistvārdus esejās vai teikumos. Divu mācību grāmatu komplektu novērtējums parādīja, ka “Focus 4” un “High Note 4” studentu grāmatām, kā arī darba grāmatām ir atšķirības saturā un tā secības, uzdevumu skaita, eseju tēmu, pašpārbaudes uzdevumu ziņā. È stato effettuato uno studio di caso ispirato ai principi pedagogici della prospettiva Student Voice. Venticinque studenti universitari hanno partecipato, tra il mese di novembre 2015 e il mese di febbraio 2016, a due attività formative: tre sessioni di scrittura espressiva e quattro colloqui individuali di peer-tutoring. La ricerca «Telemaco» è stata svolta per promuovere una partecipazione attiva e responsabile degli studenti universitari alla didattica universitaria. A tal fine, si è ritenuto opportuno preparare tale partecipazione mediante l’applicazione di due metodi d’intervento con cui migliorare il loro senso di autoefficacia, la loro capacità di gestire l’ansia da prestazione e l’immagine del loro «sé» attuale: la scrittura espressiva e il tutoraggio tra pari. I risultati dimostrano l’efficacia di questi due metodi sulle tre competenze prese in esame.
