Jānis Gefkins (1911-1938), a graduate of Riga State Gymnasium No.1, student of classical philology at the Faculty of Philology and Philosophy of the University of Latvia and member of the Latvian student fraternity Fraternitas Lettica, passed away at the age of 27.

The Latvian Student fraternity Fraternitas Lettica, accompanied by its guard of honour, arrives at the Riga Forest Cemetery to participate in the unveiling of the tombstone of its member, Alfrēds Būmanis, Latvian lawyer and professor of law at the Faculty of Economics and Law of the University of Latvia. The unveiling of the tombstone coincides with the collapse of the USSR and the restoration of Latvia's independence.
