Autori raksturo Open Access kustības attīstību Latvijā no 2009. līdz 2013. gadam. Šajā laika posmā Latvijas Universitātes Bibliotēka devusi lielu ieguldījumu zinātnieku informēšanā par Open Access iniciatīvām, organizējot lekcijas, diskusijas, sniedzot konsultācijas un sagatavojot informatīvos materiālus. Pēc LU Bibliotēkas iniciatīvas tika izveidots institucionālais LU e-resursu repozitārijs kas ir kā pilotprojekts turpmākajai repozitāriju izveidei un attīstībai Latvijā. Online Hate Speech in the European Union : A Discourse-Analytic Perspective

This book is open access under a CC BY 4.0 license and reports on research carried out as part of the European Union co-funded C.O.N.T.A.C.T. project which targeted hate speech and hate crime across a number of EU member states. It showcases the bearing that discourse analytic research can have on our understanding of this phenomenon that is a growing global cause for concern. Predatory open-access publishing in critical care medicine

Abstract Purpose To evaluate the characteristics and practice of predatory journals in critical care medicine (CCM). Methods We checked a freely accessible online and constantly updated version of the Beall lists of potential predatory publishers/journals in the field of CCM. We checked the journals' websites to retrieve the following data such as: 1) Country and address (checked by Google maps); 2) Article processing charges (APC); 3) Indexing; 4) Editor-in-chief and the Editorial Board (EB) members; 5) Number of published articles; 6) Review time (lapse submission-acceptance); 7) English form. Author Rights vs Self-Archiving in Spanish Scientific Journals

AbstractThe paper analyzes publishers’ copyright policies and self-archiving conditions of Spanish scientific journals. Data are extracted from the directory DULCINEA that contains information of 1318 Spanish journals, of which 775 (61%) allow some form of self-archiving to be about 60% of the post-print version and allowing them 87% of the deposit of the version of record. In 72% of journals the deposit can be performed immediately after publication and in 16% after article acceptance. 72% of the journals are freely available without charge to the user this figure raises up to 86% if free access after an embargo is considered.
