Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are contaminants of concern that impact every sphere of the environment. Despite several decades of research, their mechanisms of toxicity are still poorly understood. This study explores the mechanisms of cardiotoxicity of the three widespread model PAHs retene, pyrene and phenanthrene in the rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) early life stages. Newly hatched larvae were exposed to each individual compound at sublethal doses causing no significant increase in the prevalence of deformities. This study examines both the effect of a twice-weekly combined exercise—1 h session of strength and 1 h session of impact-aerobic—on body composition and dietary habits after one year of treatment with aromatase inhibitors (AI) in breast cancer survivors. Overall, forty-three postmenopausal women with a BMI ≤ 35 kg/m2, breast cancer survivors treated with AI, were randomized into two groups: a control group (CG) (n = 22) and a training group (IG) (n = 21). The aim of this thesis was to investigate the impact of the volatile odorant fraction and the non-volatile fraction on the perception of caramel flavour. The first step focused on the analytical characterization of the volatile odorant fraction of caramel using Gas Chromatography coupled to Olfactometry (GC/O), GC/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) and heart-cutting MDGC/MS/O. The health authorities recommend a reduction in salt (NaCl) and fat contents of foodstuff. But reducing such components without affecting acceptability is a major challenge, particularly because of the interactions with other ingredients, such as aroma compounds. meso-RO-appended (R = alkyl, aryl) porphyrins bearing one or two OR substituents at the tetrapyrrolic macrocycle were synthesized in good yields from 5,15-dibromo-10,20-diphenylporphyrins 2H(Br2DPP), Ni(Br2DPP) and Zn(Br2DPP) using an SNAr reaction. By varying the solvent, the base, the temperature, and the time of the reaction, the optimum conditions were established, and the selective introduction of one or two meso-RO substituents at the periphery of the macrocycle was achieved. Abstract Fine urban aerosol particles with aerodynamic equivalent dimeter ≤2.5 μm (PM2.5) were collected in Mainz (a city within the Rhine-Main area, the third largest metropolitan region in Germany) and Beijing (Chinese megacity). A solvent mixture of acetonitrile-water was used to extract the organic aerosol fraction (OA) from the particle samples. The extracts were analyzed by an ultrahigh resolution mass spectrometer (UHRMS) Orbitrap coupled with ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) both in the negative and positive ion mode.
