Mimicking human autonomy in industrial robotic enabled sensing
2022
Humans have an immediate perception of shapes and surroundings through their senses and their cognitive capabilities. This innate ability enables the manual inspection of components in manufacturing environments. Trained inspectors combine their senses and handling skills with bespoke non-destructive testing instrumentation. However, manual inspections can be slow for large and/or complex geometries and prone to human factors. Automated non-destructive testing systems have emerged in recent years, to increase data acquisition speed, part coverage and inspection reliability. These tools work well when the robotic inspection takes place in a well-structured environment and an accurate part mo…
Il negozio giuridico nel pensiero di Renato Scognamiglio e gli sviluppi verso una concezione normativa del negozio
2021
The essay analyzes the significant contribution of Renato Scognamiglio to the scientific reflection on the juridical act, starting from the monographic study of 1950 "Contributo alla teoria del negozio giuridico". The topicality of Scognamiglio's thought allows us to return to reflect on private autonomy and on the general instrument of its exercise, the juridical act, understood as an act of self-regulation. Starting from the studies of Scognamiglio, the author proposes a normative conception of the juridical act, which offers the most adequate understanding scheme of the relationships between private autonomy and state order
The essay deals with the issue of the Sicilian specialty within the framework of the constitutional reform project which excluded regions with a special statute from its scope. Although the constitutional r…

2021
Teacher training, professional qualification and recruitment. Rethinking of school autonomy as part of a more ambitious administration reform. The birth rate as an opportunity to use economies in challenging policies. The strengthening of post-secondary but not university higher technical training. Il diritto europeo dello sport, tra specificità, rilevanza economica e motivi imperativi di interesse generale
2018
European Sports Law, between Specificity, Economic Relevance and Overriding Reasons of General Interest The most recent European case law has, once again, raised the question on whether sports law can be regarded as an original and separate branch of legal systems. At European level, sports law is deeply integrated in the legal system and, therefore, it is subject to its regula- tions. This phenomenon is however mitigated by the social function of sport, which, together with technical regulations, provides an important area of legislative, organizational and judicial autonomy to sports law. The ordering principle between sports law and the European legal system is thus identified in the pri…

Esercizi di confutazione su eutanasia e suicidio assistito
2013
In this article, I will offer a definition of active euthanasia, of passive euthanasia and of physician-assisted suicide. Secondly, because I believe in the value of individual autonomy, I will confutate some arguments adduced against the legalization of voluntary euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide. In particular, five arguments. The slippery slope argument, the perfectionist moral argument, the theological argument, the patients’ vulnerability argument, the life’s sacred value argument.

La tutela della vulnerabilità in ambito giuridico. Rilevanza del concetto nel contesto della tratta e del traffico di persone migranti
2022
The legal system started to use the word “vulnerability” to provide protection in cases of abuse or need. Understanding the double face of vulnerability, as both universal and individual, may lead us to overcome the traditional liberal paradigm and its idea of indi-viduals independent and autonomous, and finally embrace an idea of legal subject based on his inherent vulnerability. The differences between these paradigms are evident in the fields of migration and human trafficking. This paper proposes to rethink the approach to migration starting from vulnerability.
The effects of using participatory working time scheduling software on working hour characteristics and wellbeing : a quasi-experimental study of irr…
2020
Background: Studies in the health care sector indicate that good work time control is associated with better perceived wellbeing but also with non-ergonomic work schedules, such as compressed work schedules. Participatory working time scheduling is a collaborative approach to scheduling shift work. Currently, there is a lack of information on whether working hour characteristics and employees' wellbeing in irregular shift work change after implementing participatory working time scheduling. Objective: To investigate the effects of using digital participatory working time scheduling software on working hour characteristics and well-being among Finnish hospital employees. Participants and met…
