Eiropas Centrālās bankas kvantitāvās mīkstināšanas programmas analīze
2016
2018
Sākoties globālajai finanšu krīzei 2008.gadā, valstu centrālās bankas sāka pārdomāt esošo monetārās politikas instrumentu iedarbību uz ekonomiku. Valstu ekonomika auga lēnāk nekā bija nepieciešams un tradicionālie monetārās politikas instrumenti bija zaudējuši savu efektivitāti. Līdz ar to tautsaimniecības stimulēšanā nācās iesaistīt jaunus netradicionālos monetārās politikas instrumentus, tajā skaitā kvantitatīvo mīkstināšanu, kuru ECB sāka pielietot 2015.gadā.

The Response of European Energy Prices to ECB Monetary Policy
2019
To our knowledge, this paper is the first to discuss the response of European energy commodity prices to unexpected monetary policy surprises from the European Central Bank (ECB). Using the Rigobon (2003) identification through heteroscedasticity method, we find a significant and positive response during the crisis period for Brent and coal. Similar results are obtained by other authors for European financial assets in this period. This result reinforces the idea that during this period, financial assets and some commodities positively responded to conventional and unconventional expansionary monetary policy measures, increasing confidence about the survival of the European monetary union. …
Blood Transfusion Management for Patients Treated With Anti-CD38 Monoclonal Antibodies
2018
Daratumumab has proven to be highly efficacious for relapsed and refractory multiple myeloma (MM) and has recently been approved in the frontline setting for MM patients ineligible for transplantation. In the future, expanded indications are possible for daratumumab and other anti-CD38 monoclonal antibodies in development. For several years, it has been recognized that these therapies interfere with blood bank testing by binding to CD38 on red blood cells and causing panagglutination on the Indirect Antiglobulin Test. This can lead to redundant testing and significant delays in patient care. Given the anticipated increase in utilization of anti-CD38 monoclonal antibodies, as well as the tra…

How perceived value drives the use of mobile financial services apps
2019
Mobile information services have revolutionized business models and service delivery methods by facilitating consumer access to information and order placement via mobile apps. In developed markets, mobile banking (m-banking) and mobile payment (m-payment) applications have replaced text-based mobile services. However, extant research has not addressed these mobile financial services apps (MFSAs) adequately from the perspective of consumer behavior. Thus, the present study developed and tested a series of hypotheses related to the antecedents of perceived value of MFSA use; it also examined how such use affects the development of customers’ overall relationships with banks. Our hypotheses w…
Banks and Territory: Investigation in Knowledge and Building New Relationships between Territorial Banks and Local Actors
2014
A series of events in the late 1980s, such as the process of market globalization, the birth of virtual economy, the decrease in interest rates, made banks develop a sort of schizophrenic view of the market: on one side, in a scenario of globalization, they wanted to have contacts with international markets, in a logic which should have put an end to the geography of markets (R. O’Brien 1992); on the other side, during the 1990s, banks felt there were strong information asymmetries between suppliers and beneficiaries of funds. Because these asymmetries increased with geographical distance, banks felt the need to specialize and find their own place in the territory or, in other words, the ne…

How Relevant Are Risk Perceptions, Effort, and Performance Expectancy in Mobile Banking Adoption?
2018
This article provides a comprehensive overview of the adoption process using evidence from m-banking adoption in Pakistan. A survey design was used and 189 responses were received from across Pakistan and analyzed using Smart PLS application. Findings suggest that research on the effect of risk in the adoption process remains inconclusive. Contrarily, consumers have overcome many fears due to the usefulness, indispensability, high security features, and effort expended in the use of financial services delivered through m-banking. Perceived risk's (PR) direct influence was found to be generally weak. However, PR plays a major role in the pre-adoption process because it's weak and direct inhi…
