Observer-Based ${H}_{\infty }$ Control Design for Nonlinear Networked Control Systems with Limited Information
2013
Published version of an article in the journal: Abstract and Applied Analysis. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1155/2013/604249 Open Access This paper is concerned with the problem of designing a robust observer-based H∞ controller for discrete-time networked systems with limited information. An improved networked control system model is proposed and the effects of random packet dropout, time-varying delay, and quantization are considered simultaneously. Based on the obtained model, a stability criterion is developed by constructing an appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and sufficient conditions for the existence of a dynamic quantized output feedback cont…
Knowledge Acquisition in Conceptual Ontological Artificial Intelligence System
2009
The paper deals with active knowledge acquisition based on dialogue between AI system and its user. Presented method uses Conceptual Ontological Object Orientated System (COOS) to distinguish differences between concepts and to unequivocally process the input stream. In case of concepts, that do not exist in the system yet, adequate algorithms are being used to position them in ontological core. Separate concepts differ in attributes values or in sets of direct connections with other concepts. The communication aspect of the system deliver information that allow generating proper interpretation for userpsilas statement.

A simulation of disagreement for control of rational cheating in peer review
2013
Understanding the peer review process could help research and shed light on the mechanisms that underlie crowdsourcing. In this paper, we present an agent-based model of peer review built on three entities - the paper, the scientist and the conference. The system is implemented on a BDI platform (Jason) that allows to define a rich model of scoring, evaluating and selecting papers for conferences. Then, we propose a programme committee update mechanism based on disagreement control that is able to remove reviewers applying a strategy aimed to prevent papers better than their own to be accepted (rational cheating). We analyze a homogeneous scenario, where all conferences aim to the same leve…
Phosphine-diène and Salicylamidines ligands : coordination chemistry, catalysis and therapy
2017
The subject of this thesis concerns the development of new ligands, their coordination chemistry, and the synthesis of the corresponding metal complexes for catalysis and therapy. The first part of this work relates to the synthesis of diene-phosphine ligands, their saturated analogs, and the corresponding arene-ruthenium complexes. Arene decoordination allows the formation of a cationic bimetallic complex where the ligand is diène-η4/κ-P coordinated to the ruthenium. These complexes have been applied to atom transfer radical addition (ATRA) of CCl4 to styrene. When harsh reaction conditions are used, the superiority of the “diene” complexes is highlighted comparing to saturated analogs. The …
MOJAVE. XII. ACCELERATION AND COLLIMATION OF BLAZAR JETS ON PARSEC SCALES
2014
We report on the acceleration properties of 329 features in 95 blazar jets from the MOJAVE VLBA program. Nearly half the features and three-quarters of the jets show significant changes in speed and/or direction. In general, apparent speed changes are distinctly larger than changes in direction, indicating that changes in the Lorentz factors of jet features dominate the observed speed changes rather than bends along the line of sight. Observed accelerations tend to increase the speed of features near the jet base, $\lesssim 10-20$ parsecs projected, and decrease their speed at longer distances. The range of apparent speeds at fixed distance in an individual jet can span a factor of a few, i…
Catching the radio flare in CTA 102
2013
We performed multifrequency multiepoch Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) observations of the blazar CTA 102 during its 2006 radio flare, the strongest ever reported for this source. These observations provide an excellent opportunity to investigate the evolution of the physical properties of blazars, especially during these flaring events. We want to study the kinematic changes in the source during the strong radio outburst in April 2006 and test the assumption of a shock-shock interaction. This assumption is based on the analysis and modeling of the single-dish observations of CTA\,102 (Paper I). In this paper we study the kinematics of CTA 102 at several frequencies using VLBI observations.…
Discovery of off-axis jet structure of TeV blazar Mrk 501 with mm-VLBI
2016
Context. High-resolution millimeter wave very-long-baseline interferometry (mm-VLBI) is an ideal tool for probing the structure at the base of extragalactic jets in detail. The TeV blazar Mrk 501 is one of the best targets among BL Lac objects for studying the nature of off-axis jet structures because it shows different jet position angles at different scales. Aims. The aim of this study is to investigate the properties of the off-axis jet structure through high-resolution mm-VLBI images at the jet base and physical parameters such as kinematics, flux densities, and spectral indices. Methods. We performed Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) observations over six epochs from 2012 February to 201…
The scavenging of two different types of marine aerosol particles calculated using a two-dimensional detailed cloud model
2011
Our 2-D dynamic model including spectral microphysics and scavenging has been evaluated for a warm precipitating convective cloud at Day 261 (18 September 1974) of the GATE campaign. Two different chemical species ((NH 4 ) 2 SO 4 and NaCl) of aerosol particles were followed in the air, inside the drops in the cloud, and inside the drops reaching the ground. Concerning the dynamics and microphysics, as well as the scavenging and wet deposition, the model results agree quite well with available observations. The cloud rained after 19 min of cloud life time. For the considered aerosol loading of the atmosphere, rough estimates are derived for the total material processed by such a warm convect…
