Diagnostic Procedures in Ischaemic Stroke Patients with Dementia. A Population-Based Study

2012

Background Dementia is a frequent condition in stroke patients. Aims To investigate the effect of dementia on access to diagnostic procedures in ischaemic stroke patients. Methods All cases of ischaemic stroke from 2006 to 2010 were identified from the population-based Stroke Registry of Dijon, France. Patients' characteristics were recorded, as was the use of brain computed tomography scans, brain magnetic resonance imaging, electrocardiogram, echocardiography, and Doppler ultrasonography of the cervical arteries. Dementia was diagnosed according to Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-IV criteria. Logistic regression models were used to evaluate the associations between d…

ELSA air traffic simulator: An empirically grounded agent based model for the SESAR scenario

2015

This paper describes the Air Traffic Simulator produced by the ELSA project. It is partially based on interacting agents taking actions during strategic and tactical phases: air companies, network manager, pilots, and controllers. The simulator is highly modular and each part can be used independently of the others. The code is open source, ready to use and available for the research community. Some results concerning the future organization of the European Airspace (free-routing) are presented, using the full capabilities of the model. We found that the implementation of free-routing could have a positive impact on the safety event occurrences that will be reduced in number although spread…

Lobesia botrana is a microlepidoptera moth a common pest in European vineyards. Larvaes cause damages both by eating plant reproductive organs and indirectly by promoting the infection of grape berries by saprophytic pathogens.Since 1999, the Banyuls and Albères Agricultural Development Group (GDA) keeps track of infestations by L. botrana on control plots. Moreover, since 2012, thanks to the ANR TERVICLIM, the of Banyuls AOC region is covered by a network of temperature recording stations. This year, the GDA launches an IPM (Integreted Pest Management) plan based on mating disruption that requires the involvement of vine-growers. The aim of this paper is two-fold: the calibrating an agent-b…

Contagion and Bank Runs in a Multi-Agent Financial System

2012

In this work we explore contagion from one institution to another that can stem from the existence of a network of financial contracts. In fact, in modern financial systems, an intricate web of claims and obligations links the balance sheets of a wide variety of intermediaries (banks, for instance) into a network structure of interdependencies that have created an environment for feedback elements to generate amplified responses to shocks to the financial system. Small shocks, which initially affect only a few institutions, can indeed spread by contagion to the rest of the financial sector and cause a crisis in the connected intermediaries. Whether the financial crisis does spread depends c…

Semantically enriched informed environment for multi-agent simulation : application to simulation in 3D virtual environment

2014

This thesis focuses on multi-agent simulation applied to the simulation of individuals in virtual 3D buildings. To do this, our work suggests to capitalize on the experience gained in the field of semantic web ontologies and inference engines to facilitate the design and development of intelligent behavior for agents operating in virtual worlds. The goal is to provide to agents a generic approach to managing their representation of the world and reason about this representation. For this, the central problem is based on the definition of a decidable ontology modeling all of the knowledge contained in the virtual 3D environment to enrich semantically the environment of a multi-agent simulati…

A combined electrophysiological and morphological examination of episodic memory decline in amnestic mild cognitive impairment.

2013

Early stages of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) are characterized by neuropathological changes within the medial temporal lobe cortex (MTLC), which lead to characteristic impairments in episodic memory, i.e., amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI). Here, we tested the neural correlates of this memory impairment using event-related potentials (ERPs) and voxel-based morphometry. Twenty-four participants were instructed to encode lists of words and were tested in a yes/no recognition memory task. The dual-process model of recognition memory dissociates between acontextual familiarity and recollection of contextual details. The early frontal ERP old/new-effect, which is thought to represent a neura…

An agent based model of air traffic management

2013

The WP-E ELSA project aims at developing an empirically grounded agent based model that describes some of the stylized facts observed in the Air Traffic Management of the European airspace. The model itself has two main parts: (i) The strategic layer, focused on the interaction between the Network Manager and the Airline Operators and (ii) the tactical layer, focused on aircraft and controllers behaviour in Air Traffic Control (ATC) sectors. The preliminary results for the strategic layer show that when we have a mixing of re-routing and shifting companies, the overall satisfaction can even increase together with the number of flights, which is an effect not observed when only one type of c…

Inuentiones y translationes de S. Mercurio

2019

Inuentiones and translationes of the relics are part of the hagiographic dossier of a saint and provide interesting information about his cult over the centuries. For S. Mercurius of Caesarea the original texts in Greek have been lost, but we have two collections miracles in Coptic that narrate the inuentio and translatio of his relics and there is also a medieval tradition about his translatio to Benevento (Italy). From all these texts is deduced a healing cult of S. Mercurius based on the usual topics.
