Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie sylwetek współczesnych mieszkańców Ziemi Brzeskiej, którzy mają korzenie kresowe. Artykuł powstał w oparciu o p onad 35-letnie zbieranie dokumentów i relacji od dużej liczby polskich ekspatriantów z ziem wschodnich dawnej Rzeczypospolitej, które Polska utraciła w wyniku decyzji międzynarodowych konferencji w Jałcie i Poczdamie w 1945 r. Artykuł przedstawia tematykę związaną z realizacją projektu badawczego podejmującego zagadnienie podmiotowości i tolerancji wśród młodzieży na pograniczu kultur. Młodość jest czasem określania swojej tożsamości, która jest trudna do określenia w okresie zmian globalnych i lokalnych. Przedstawiono wartości preferowane przez młodzież wiejską regionu oraz ich wizję świata i próby określenia własnego miejsca w społeczeństwie. Badania były wspólnym projektem polsko-czeskim, w którym badano młodzież i lokalnych liderów wiejskich.

Celem artykułu jest pokazanie dziedzictwa kulinarnego polsko- czesko-niemieckiego po gra nic za na przykładzie śląskich nazw klusek. W tekście analizie poddano 75 gwarowych leksemów, omawiając ich pochodzenie i motywację. Wyróżniono kilka grup motywacyjnych: nazwy odnoszące się do sposobu przyrządzania potrawy; nazwy nawiązujące do jej głównego składnika; nazwy wskazujące na właściwości organoleptyczne klusek (kolor, kształt, konsystencja) oraz na ich związek z regionem czy państwem. Część przykładów nazw klusek to pożyczki z języka niemieckiego i języka czeskiego, wskazujące na wspólne dziedzictwo kulinarne. In the analysis of journalistic representation of irregular migration to Europe, rather little attention is given to the variation of modes and genres of journalism. Most studies focus on text in ‘old media’ and the news genre. This article analyses affordances of different modalities and genres of online journalism in framing irregular migrants. In contemporary societies we are witnessing an expansion of the messages of human capital. These messages have as their central dimension idea of the self-entrepreneur, which implies a deepening in the logic of activation, while blurring the wage relations. In this scenario, young people with university degrees are becoming a favourite target in the offensive of human capital.
