A Multicenter Experience of Three Different "Iliac Branched" Stent Grafts for the Treatment of Aorto-Iliac And/Or Iliac Aneurysms

2023

Background: The aim of study was to assess the safety and effectiveness of 3 different commercial iliac branch devices (IBDs): the Zenith Branch Iliac Endovascular Graft; the Gore Excluder Iliac Branch System and the E-liac Stent Graft System for the treatment of aorto-iliac or iliac aneurysms. Methods: From January 2017 to February 2020, a retrospective reviewed was conducted on a total of 96 patients. Primary endpoint was IBD instability rate at 24 months. Secondary endpoints included onset of any endoleaks, buttock claudication, IBD-related reintervention and all-death rates, postoperative acute kidney, and changes in maximum diameter from baseline of the aortic aneurysmal sac. Search for pair production of first or second generation leptoquarks in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s)=7 TeV using the ATLAS detector at the LHC

2011

This paper describes searches for the pair production of first or second generation scalar leptoquarks using 35  pb−1 of proton-proton collision data recorded by the ATLAS detector at √s=7  TeV. Leptoquarks are searched in events with two oppositely-charged muons or electrons and at least two jets, and in events with one muon or electron, missing transverse momentum and at least two jets. After event selection, the observed yields are consistent with the predicted backgrounds. Leptoquark production is excluded at the 95% CL for masses MLQ<376 (319) GeV and MLQ<422 (362) GeV for first and second generation scalar leptoquarks, respectively, when assuming the branching fraction of a leptoquark…

Progressive stroke in pontine infarction

2009

Objective –  The pathogenesis of isolated pontine infarctions is still unclear, being attributed both to small or large vessel disease. The extension of infarcted tissue to the pons surface has been indicated as a possible marker of basilar branch atheromatous disease and some neuroimaging evidence confirms this finding. Methods –  On the basis of Kim’s et al., study, we performed a revision of the literature addressing this topic. Results –  Several authors confirm an association between basilar artery branch disease and isolated pontine infarction; moreover, the enlargement of pontine lesion seems to be associated with neurological worsening. We therefore performed a brief analysis of pos…

Nd:YAG-Laserung einer retrohyaloidalen Blutung nach Venenastverschluss

2006

Background A retrohyaloidal haemorrhage can be caused by different underlying diseases. Usually dense haemorrhages are treated by early vitrectomy. We want to report the successful treatment of a retrohyaloidal haemorrhage by means of Nd:YAG laser membranotomy. Materials and methods A 47-year-old man noticed two weeks before presentation a sudden visual loss in the left eye. Visual acuity on the first visit was c. c. 20/32 OD and c. c. 20/400 ex. OS. Dilated fundus examination of the left eye showed multiple intraretinal haemorrhages in the superior periphery and a dense retrohyaloidal haemorrhage over the macula. Anamnestic risk factors for ocular bleeding were systemic hypertension in con…

MRI in the Diagnosis of Right Ventricular Dysplasia

2006

ARVD is part of the group of cardiomyopathies characterised pathologically by fibrofatty replacement of the right ventricular myocardium and clinically by right ventricular arrhythmias of the LBBB pattern. Pathogenesis, prevalence, and aetiology are yet not fully known. The diagnosis of ARVD is based on the presence of structural, histological, electrocardiographic, and genetic factors. Therapeutic options include antiarrhythmic medication, catheter ablation, implantable cardioverter defibrillation, and surgery. Angiography and echocardiography lack sensitivity and specificity in the diagnosis of ARVD. MR imaging allows a three-dimensional evaluation of especially the right ventricle, and p…

Non-responders to cardiac resynchronization therapy: Insights from multimodality imaging and electrocardiography. A brief review

2016

Background Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is a successful strategy for heart failure (HF) patients. The pre-requisite for the response is the evidence of electrical dyssynchrony on the surface electrocardiogram usually as left bundle branch block (LBBB). Non-response to CRT is a significant problem in clinical practice. Patient selection, inadequate delivery and sub-optimal left ventricle lead position may be important causes. Objectives In an effort to improve CRT response multimodality imaging (especially echocardiography, computed tomography and cardiac magnetic resonance) could play a decisive role and extensive literature has been published on the matter. However, we are so fa…
