In the tradition of the Catholic Church, music is an indispensable and integral part of its solemn liturgy. This statement is a reminder of a centuries-old belief in the unity of these two realities. Over the centuries, various causes have resulted in periods of better or worse condition of liturgical music. The second half of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century were considered a time of crisis. It manifested itself primarily in the low level of education and carelessness of church musicians, as well as the lack of appropriate musical literature and drawing on secular models. Synthesis, antiproliferative activity, and in silico insights of new 3-benzoylamino-benzo[ b ]thiophene derivatives

A new series of 3-benzoylamino-5-imidazol-5-yl-benzo[b]thiophenes and the parent amino derivatives were synthesized and screened as antitumor agents. All tested compounds showed concentration-dependent antiproliferative activity profile against HeLa cell line, exhibiting GI50 values in the low micromolar range. The most active compounds were tested in cell cycle perturbation experiments. A rapid accumulation of cells in the G2/M phase, with a concomitant reduction of cells in both the S and G0/G1 phases, was observed, suggesting that cell exposure to selected derivatives produces mitotic failure. A competitive reactivity study on the oxidative cyclization of thiosemicarbazones into 1,3,4-thiadiazoles

Abstract In order to obtain useful insights on the mechanism of formation of 2(3H)-imino-1,3,4-thiadiazoles by oxidative cyclization of aldehyde thiosemicarbazones with Cu(II) or Fe(III) salts, a competitive reactivity study was performed on a suitable set of diversely substituted substrates, by means of HPLC techniques. This approach enabled to exploit Hammett’s equation without performing otherwise difficult-to-run kinetic experiments. Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin sykevälivaihtelun sekä ärsykkeen sydämen sykkeeseen ajastamisen yhteyksiä oppimiseen. Embedding “roadside equipment” into environmental assessment of transportation system: the case of safety barriers

The work arises from the consideration that the environmental impact of a road cannot be limited to the analysis of its constituent materials, even if correctly analyzed in their life cycle. In fact, a given road not only consists of the pavement and subgrade, but also includes several different components and accessories (e.g. road marking, drainages, safety barriers, etc.) that contribute to set a road infrastructure in operative conditions.
