Rapid and sensitive detection of metapneumovirus in clinical specimens by indirect fluorescence assay using a monoclonal antibody.

Human metapneumovirus, with two known genotypes named A and B, is associated with mild respiratory symptoms to severe LRTI in children, high-risk adults and the elderly. Rapid and reliable methods of hMPV detection in clinical samples are essential to implement appropriate care, to better understand the pathology of hMPV and to determine its epidemiology. Respiratory samples from 1,386 patients collected during 2 consecutive years were screened for hMPV using indirect immunofluorescence (IFA) assay with a monoclonal antibody. Aineisto koostuu vapaaehtoista lapsettomuutta ja sterilisaatiota käsittelevistä kirjoituksista. Kirjoituspyyntöön saivat vastata kaikki itsensä kohderyhmään kuuluvaksi määrittelevät henkilöt. The concept / institution of the Commissioner for Children ' 'Pare d'Òrfens' appears for the first time in Valencia with Law 12/2008 on Protection of Children and Adolescents. The purpose of this article is to inform readers of the existence of this concept / institution, analysing the regulatory development that has taken place and comparing its performance with other similar concepts/institutions existing in other Spanish regions, in order to critically assess the work done in recent years. To close the paper, we give a number of conclusions drawn after completing the research on this concept / institution, including several general recommendations in the form of constructive criticism.

The impact of children’s socioemotional development on parenting styles: the moderating effect of social withdrawal

This study focused on associations between children’s socioemotional development (prosocial behaviour, internalizing and externalizing problems) and parenting styles (affection, behavioural control, and psychological control), and the moderating role of children’s social withdrawal (as a temperamental characteristic) in these associations. Children’s socioemotional development (n = 314) were rated by teachers at three-time points (grades 1–3). Research Findings: The purpose of the present study was to examine the extent to which the quality of teacher–child interactions and teachers’ self-reported curriculum emphases are related to children’s reading skill development during their 1st school year. To accomplish this, we assessed the reading skills of 1,029 Finnish children (M age = 85.77 months) twice during Grade 1, and the children’s teachers (n = 91) completed questionnaires concerning their literacy-related curriculum emphases. Research Findings The aim of this study was to examine associations between two aspects of teachers’ occupational well-being, i.e., teaching-related stress and work engagement, and the quality of teacher–child interactions in Finnish kindergarten classrooms.
