Sun induced chlorophyll fluorescence (SICF) emitted by phytoplankton provides considerable insights into the vital role of the carbon productivity of the earth’s aquatic ecosystems. However, the SICF signal leaving a water body is highly affected by the high spectral variability of its optically active constituents. To disentangle the SICF emission from the water-leaving radiance, a new high spectral resolution retrieval algorithm is presented, which significantly improves the fluorescence line height (FLH) method commonly used so far. Telomeres are specialized structures at the end of eukaryotic chromosomes that are required to preserve genome integrity, chromosome stability and nuclear architecture. Telomere maintenance and function are established epigenetically in several eukaryotes. However, the exact chromatin enzymatic modifications regulating telomere homeostasis are poorly understood. Nitrous oxide fluxes from permafrost regions

This dataset is a synthesis of published nitrous oxide (N2O) fluxes from permafrost-affected soils in Arctic, Antarctic, and Alpine permafrost regions. The data includes mean N2O flux rates measured under field (in situ) conditions and in intact plant-soil systems (mesocosms) under near-field conditions. The dataset further includes explanatory environmental parameters such as meteorological data, soil physical-chemical properties, as well as site and experimental information. The essay examines the complex issue of the division of powers between the State and the Regions according to Title V of the Constitution concerning health and safety at workplace. This division between the center and the periphery has been subject to a limited review by doctrine and jurisprudence expecially focusing on the regulation of labour market. The Author describes a multilevel system characterized by the presence of national and regional sources collective bargaining and codes of conduct. The Italian Method of la drammatica: its Legacy and Reception

The volume The Italian Method of la drammatica: its Legacy and Reception includes the long and complex investigation to identify the Italian acting-code system of the drammatica used by nineteenth-century Italian actors such as Adelaide Ristori Giovanni Grasso Tommaso Salvini Eleonora Duse. In particular their acting inspired Stanislavky who reformed twentieth-century stage. The declamatory code of the drammatica was composed by symbols for notation of voice and gesture which Italian actors marked in their prompt-books. The discovery of the drammatica’s code sheds new light on nineteenth-century acting. Having deciphered the phonetic symbols of the code Anna Sica has given birth an investigation with a group of outstanding scholars in an attempt to explore the drammatica’s legacy and its reception in Europe as well as in Asia. At this stage new evidence has emerged proving that for instance the symbol used by the drammatica actors to sign the colorito vocale was known to English actors in the second half of the nineteenth century. Ruskey each published a Gray code for length n binary strings with m occurrences of 1, coding m-combinations of n objects, which is two-close—that is, in passing from one binary string to its successor a single 1 exchanges positions with a 0 which is either adjacent to the 1 or separated from it by a single 0. Statistical analysis of RaptorQ failure probability applied to a data recovery software

In this work, we have implemented a data recovery software integrating the most recent rateless codes, i.e., RaptorQ codes. Thanks to the above-mentioned software, it is possible to recover data loss occurring on several kinds of network conditions. We have performed a statistical analysis of failure probabilities at several configurations of RaptorQ parameters. We have found a good agreement with the theoretical values of a random linear fountain code over Galois Field GF(256). Moreover, we have shown that the probability of having a certain number of failed decoded source blocks - when sending a fixed size file - follows a Poisson distribution.
