Optical properties of chlorine-and oxygen-related defects in SiO$_2$ glass and optical fibers

International audience; Photoinduced processes involving chlorine molecules in synthetic silica were studied. Interstitial Cl$_2$ in SiO$_2$ are prevented from VIS/UV photolysis by cage effect. However, they react with oxygen interstitials yielding photosensitive ClClO molecules absorbing at 264nm.

This thesis considers classes of combinatorial objects that model data in bioinformatics. We have studied two methods of mutation of genes within the genome : duplication and inversion. At first,we study the problem of the whole mirror duplication-random lossmodel in terms of pattern avoiding permutations. We prove that the class of permutations obtained with this method after p duplications from the identity is the class of permutations avoiding alternating permutations of length 2p + 1.We also enumerate the number of duplications that are necessary and sufficient to obtain any permutation of length n from the identity. Analysis of thermal infrared data from the Digital Airborne Imaging Spectrometer

Thermal infrared data of the Digital Airborne Imaging Spectrometer (DAIS), whose channels 74-79 are in the 8-13 w m waveband region, were analysed with the aim of recovering land surface temperature (LST). DAIS images were acquired over an experimental site where field and laboratory emissivity measurements were performed, and these were used to recover the LST from the six DAIS thermal channels. Atmospheric correction of DAIS data was calculated by means of a nearby radiosounding and a radiative transfer model. International audience; In this paper we presents a platform based design approach for fast HW/SW embedded smart Advanced Driver Assistant System (ADAS) design and prototyping. Then, we share our experience in designing and prototyping a HW/SW vision based smart embedded system as an ADAS that helps to increase the safety of car's drivers. We present a physical prototype of the vision ADAS based on a Zynq FPGA. The system detects the fatigue state of the driver by monitoring the eyes closure and generates a real-time alert. In this qualitative study, we investigate how customers perceive QR codes enhancing their customer experience (CX) in the brick-and-mortar (B&M) store environment. Introducing QR codes to B&M stores is a part of the larger phenomenon of retailers creating omnichannel CXs by utilizing digital and cyber-physical elements in B&M stores. To collect data from real customers’ CXs, we displayed QR codes in a Finnish fashion brand’s B&M store and interviewed customers who had authentically visited the store. Customers’ QR Code Usage Barriers in a Brick-and-Mortar Store : A Qualitative Study

The purpose of this study is to explore the factors that hinder customers from utilizing QR codes when they visit brick-and-mortar (B&M) stores. The research was conducted at a Finnish fashion retailer, where three types of QR codes were displayed for customers to use. In order to identify the barriers that customers face, two different sets of data were collected and analyzed: open-ended survey data (n = 101) and interview data (n = 16). Purpose This brief note sheds light on the links between Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) codes and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. Design/methodology/approach Three alternative methods based on keyword overlap to establish links between SDGs and JEL codes are presented. Findings These simple linkages illustrate that the themes of SDGs have corresponding closely related JEL classification codes. Research limitations/implications The mappings presented in this note are based on simple keyword overlap and are therefore necessarily imperfect and incomplete.
