An amphiphilic inulin-thiocholesterol conjugate (INU-Cys-TC) was strategically designed as a biodegradable core-shell nanocarrier of 7-ethyl-10-hydroxy-camptothecin (SN38) to enhance its solubility and stability in aqueous media, thus exploiting its brilliant anticancer effect. Here, we reported the production of graphene oxide (GO) containing nanogels produced by a top-down procedure employing as a starting biomaterial an amino derivative of hyaluronic acid named HA-EDA. This derivative was reacted, in the presence of single layer GO, with α,β-poly(N-2-hydroxyethyl)-D,L-aspartamide-((2-aminoethyl)-carbamate)-divinyl sulfone (PHEA-DVS) employed as a macromolecular crosslinking agent. Nutraceuticals constitute a group of functional foods that provide added health benefits for various disorders including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and colorectal cancer (CCR). The main groups of nutraceuticals include probiotics, prebiotics omega 3 and antioxidants. Background: Thymidylate synthase (TS) catalyzes methylation of dUMP to dTMP and is the target of 5-fluorouracil (5-Fu). TS levels vary considerably among tumors and the response to 5-FU is influenced by the intratumoral activity of the enzyme, with high levels generally being associated with a poor response.
