Justification of ethical considerations in health economics – Merging the theories of Niklas Luhmann and Charles Taylor

Dealing with ethics in health economics on socio-philosophical grounds is not yet well established. This paper shows how a liaison between the system theory of Luhmann and the philosophy of Taylor can be used to analyze and justify the incorporation of ethical considerations into health economics. One rationale for the incorporation of ethical consideration into health economics is the deficiencies in capturing all relevant needs of health system participants with common (welfare) economics. Grid production with the ATLAS Event Service

ATLAS has developed and previously presented a new computing architecture, the Event Service, that allows real time delivery of fine grained workloads which process dispatched events (or event ranges) and immediately streams outputs. The principal aim was to profit from opportunistic resources such as commercial cloud, supercomputing, and volunteer computing, and otherwise unused cycles on clusters and grids. During the development and deployment phase, its utility also on the grid and conventional clusters for the exploitation of otherwise unused cycles became apparent. Il contributo, che fa parte del catalogo della mostra, esamina alcune le suppellettili liturgiche conservate nei Tesori della Chiesa Madre di Geraci Siculo e della Matrice Nuova di Castelbuono e nel Museo Civico di quest’ultimo centro siciliano. Si tratta di opere in argento, in discreto stato di conservazione, commissionate perlopiù dai munifici Ventimiglia, signori del luogo. Sono manufatti realizzati da argentieri siciliani dagli inizi del Seicento sino all’Ottocento, quindi dal periodo barocco al neoclassicismo. I preziosi manufatti, che attestano la devozione delle due comunità montane della provincia di Palermo, vengono raffrontati con altre opere conservate in diversi Tesori dell’Iso…

Il contributo fa parte di un volume interamente dedicato ai monili, alle suppellettili liturgiche in argento e ai parati sacri conservati nei Tesori delle chiese di Petralia Soprana, centro delle alte Madonie appartenente alla Diocesi di Cefalù. Le opere esaminate nel libro si rivelano del tutto originali poiché permettono di inoltrarsi in un periodo della storia dell’arte in Sicilia che va dal Trecento all’Ottocento. Il saggio, ad esempio, indaga i preziosi manufatti realizzati dalla fine del Quattrocento agli anni Settanta del Settecento. Si tratta di suppellettili liturgiche commissionate da prelati, nobili e fedeli e realizzate da argentieri messinesi, catanesi e soprattutto palermitani…
