Two new anthracene chalcones, namely 1-(anthracen-9-yl)-3-(naphthalen-2-yl)prop-2-en-1-one and 1-(anthracen-9-yl)-3-(pyren-1-yl)prop-2-en-1-one, have been successfully synthesized and the effect of the different fused ring substituent system attached to the anthracene chalcone derivative investigated. These compounds show a very narrow band gap due to the large p-conjugated systems, making them promising candidates as optoelectronic materials. Hirshfeld surface analysis has been carried out to show the contribution of inter­molecular contacts and weak inter­actions to supra­molecular stabilization.

Abstract The paper discusses contemporary Polish humor which features references to Chinese language and culture. Together with the ideological, political, financial and economic visibility of China, its presence in Polish humorous discourse is on the rise. WiMAX, as known as IEEE standard 802.16, is a wide range broadband wireless access network which has a significant good support for the quality of service. According to IEEE standard 802.16e WiMAX has support also for mobility. One of the key advantages of the WiMAX network is the possibility to assign QoS parameters as connection based. A good example of traffic type having strict QoS demands is VoIP. VoIP will probably be a killer application in the future's broadband wireless networks because of its cost efficiency compared to circuit switched networks. In this paper, we analyze by extensive simulations how QoS is applied per connection, especially for the VoIP connection.
