Location of solutions for quasi-linear elliptic equations with general gradient dependence

Existence and location of solutions to a Dirichlet problem driven by $(p,q)$-Laplacian and containing a (convection) term fully depending on the solution and its gradient are established through the method of subsolution-supersolution. Here we substantially improve the growth condition used in preceding works. The abstract theorem is applied to get a new result for existence of positive solutions with a priori estimates.

The Test of Mobile Phone Dependence (TMD) questionnaire (Chóliz, 2012) evaluates the main features of mobile phone dependence: tolerance, abstinence syndrome, impaired impulse control, associated problems, excessive use, etc. Objective: The objective of this study was to develop a multicultural version of the TMD (TMDbrief) adapted to suit the novel communication tools of smartphones. Psychometric analysis of the Test of Dependence of Videogames (TDV) in Peruvian population

Resumen El objetivo del presente trabajo es validar en población peruana, el Test de Dependencia de Videojuegos (TDV) (Chóliz & Marco, 2011). Los resultados obtenidos demuestran que se trata de una herramienta confiable y válida. Se encontró una sola estructura factorial, en lugar de cuatro dimensiones, como plantearon los autores del TDV. Este factor podría denominarse genéricamente: adicción a videojuegos, y podría servir como evidencia de la existencia de este trastorno, que coincidiría con el denominado ‘Trastorno de Juego por Internet’, que aparece en la Sección III del DSM-5. Artykuł przedstawia zastosowanie koncepcji zależności ścieżkowej (path dependence) do analizy wybranych trajektorii rozwojowych krajów (gospodarek), które zostały omówione przez Immanuela Wallersteina w pracach na temat nowoczesnego systemu-świata. W tekście zaprezentowano podstawowe założenia zależności ścieżkowej jako zjawiska oraz jako koncepcji pozwalającej na interpretację związków przyczynowo-skutkowych w rozwoju technologii oraz w bardziej złożonych opisach rozwoju społeczno-historycznego. Następnie szczegółowej analizie poddano trzy wybrane przypadki trajektorii gospodarek w okresie powstawania nowoczesnego systemu-świata: Polski, Wenecji i Anglii.

Search for scalar leptoquarks in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$=13 TeV with the ATLAS experiment

An inclusive search for a new-physics signature of lepton-jet resonances has been performed by the ATLAS experiment. Scalar leptoquarks, pair-produced in pp collisions at s √s = 13 TeV at the large hadron collider, have been considered. An integrated luminosity of 3.2 fb-1, corresponding to the full 2015 dataset was used. First (second) generation leptoquarks were sought in events with two electrons (muons) and two or more jets. The observed event yield in each channel is consistent with Standard Model background expectations. The observed (expected) lower limits on the leptoquark mass at 95% confidence level are 1100 and 1050 GeV (1160 and 1040 GeV) for first and second generation leptoqua…
