Quantitative in vivo microdialysis in pharmacokinetic studies: some reminders.

This paper reviews the empirical methods of quantitative microdialysis that have been used to interpret the results obtained from pharmacokinetic studies. The concept of extraction efficiency or recovery and the properties of recovery in vivo (variation with flow rate, time dependency and influence of the mode of administration) are considered. The most frequently used methods for determining recovery in vivo are described and evaluated in the light of recent theoretical studies. The loss of biodiversity, including the collapse of fish stocks, affects the vulnerability of social-ecological systems (SESs) and threatens local livelihoods. Incorporating community-centered indicators and SES drivers and exposures of change into coastal management can help anticipate and mitigate human and/or coastal vulnerability. We have proposed a new index to measure the social-ecological vulnerability of coastal fishing communities (Index of Coastal Vulnerability [ICV]) based on species, ecosystem, and social indicators. In line with the “two-polarities models” of personality development, Blatt (2008) proposed a “twoconfigurations” model, suggesting that self-definition and relatedness are two fundamental psychological dimensions useful in evaluating the vulnerability factors for psychopathology in adolescence. Based on the adult version of the Depressive Experiences Questionnaire, Blatt and colleagues (1992) developed the DEQ for Adolescents (DEQ-A).

This article explores bildning as a central concept in the development of the explicit cultural policy of the Swedish government. It takes its point of departure in how the concept of bildning was interpreted by Arthur Engberg, the minister responsible for cultural policy in the Social Democrat governments 1932–1939. In his interpretation bildning was liked both to upholding the high arts and the national culture and to the idea of re-invigorating these through cultural policy and education.
