This study aims at characterising the properties of TruView™ and ClearView™ two new gel dosimeters (Modus Medical Devices Inc.) and at studying the feasibility of relative dosimetry using these dosimeters and the Vista™ Optical CT scanner to accurately evaluate dose.In this work, we investigated key dosimetric aspects (dose response, energy and dose rate dependence) and stability of these radiochromic gels initiated in preliminary works (Huet et al., 2017; Colnot et al., 2017) using spectrophotometric measurements. The spectacular development of the Spanish mortgage market during the last decade has increased the concern about its financial integration with other capital markets. This paper examines the degree of integration between the mortgage market and two broader capital markets such as the public debt market and the money market in the Spanish case. Against the flow in data collection: How data triangulation combined with a ‘slow’ interview technique enriches data

Capturing the voices of the ‘disadvantaged’ in society may often be difficult to achieve. In this article, we argue that the combination of data triangulation and a ‘slow’ interview technique may be a good method when the target group is vulnerable people who may find the interview challenging. Data triangulation can reveal a social phenomenon’s complexity by providing a fuller picture, while in-depth interviews and a ‘slow’ interview technique can enhance data quality. The discussed paper deals with the quite interesting topic of design and management of subsurface drip irrigation (SDI), with the aim to identify the appropriate depth at which to install driplines to avoid wetting the soil surface. The study proposes the results of simulations, obtained with the well-known HYDRUS 2D/3D model version 2.x, and considering three different irrigation management strategies applied on alfalfa crop cultivated in two different soil types in Holtville, California.

Phytoplankton assemblages in twenty-one Sicilian reservoirs: relationships between species composition and environmental factors

Data collected in a limnological survey, carried out between 1987 and 1988 on 21 Sicilian reservoirs of varying trophic state, were ordinated using CANOCO 3.1 to generalise the way in which the structure of phytoplankton assemblage is conditioned by both physical and chemical variables. The results showed that in these man-made lakes, characterised by conspicuouswater-level fluctuations, the annual and interannual variability in the abundance and composition of phytoplankton may be strongly influenced by their peculiar hydraulic regimes rather than by nutrient availability. Abstract Gates are simple hydraulic structures which have been widely used for flow control and measurement in irrigation networks. In this paper new sluice gates with cylindrical and semi-cylindrical edges were introduced and the flow movement below these types of gates was experimentally investigated for both free- and submerged-flow conditions.
