Background: The traditional model of the ltalian family, the married couple with children, is suffering a declining trend and many other family types are imposing. The aim of this paper is (i) to assess the role of family structure as determinant of perceived health and (ii) to investigate the existence of a geographical gradient of health. Methods: The study is based on data taken from the 2004 EU-SILC survey of Eurostat and regards people living in ltaly, aged 25 years and over. Wprowadzenie: Celem badań było zweryfikowanie związku między częstotliwością i ilością spożywania alkoholu a postawą studentów wobec picia alkoholu. Materiał i metody: W poprzecznych badaniach ankietowych, z wykorzystaniem kwestionariusza PBS „Studenci 2004”, uczestniczyło 908 studentów drugiego roku studiów politechnicznych (w tym 30% kobiet) w wieku od 19 do 36 lat (M = 21,23; SD = 1,26). Wyniki: Uzyskane wyniki wskazują, że studentki piją znacząco mniej alkoholu i mają bardziej negatywne postawy wobec alkoholu aniżeli studenci. Abstract Purpose Men and women typically display different neuromuscular characteristics, force–velocity relationships, and differing strength deficit (upper vs. lower body). Thus, it is not clear how previous recommendations for training with velocity-loss resistance training based on data in men will apply to women.
