Abstract The aim of this paper is to study the possibility of using of Arundo donax L. fibers as reinforcement in polymer composites. The fibers are extracted from the outer part of the stem of the plant, which widely grows in Mediterranean area and is diffused all around the world. To use these lignocellulosic fibers as reinforcement in polymer composites, it is necessary to investigate their microstructure, chemical composition and mechanical properties. espanolEn este trabajo se revisa la participacion de mujeres pioneras europeas en el campo psicologico, con el objetivo de analizar su aportacion al desarrollo de la disciplina, a lo largo del siglo xx y principios del xxi. Para ello, de las fuentes de la bibliografia que ofrece Benjamin, en 1980, se han seleccionado siete mujeres nacidas en Europa, en el siglo xix. Y a partir de una metodologia bibliometrica se ha examinado la informacion del Social Sciences Citation Index, –ssci–, desde 1900 hasta 2016. Peri-Operative Liver Regeneration of the Remnant Liver Volume after Right Hepatectomy for Living Donation: A Multiple Regression Analysis

Early liver regeneration was studied in a series of 70 patients who underwent right hepatectomy for living donation from November 2004 to January 2010. Liver regeneration was evaluated by multidetector computed tomography at a mean time of 61.07 days after surgery. Pre-surgical variables such as age, weight, height, body mass index, liver function tests, creatinine, platelet count, international normalized ratio, glucose, and variables detected with preoperative multidetector computed tomography imaging, including diameter of main portal vein, steatosis, original liver volume and spleen volume, were investigated as potential predictors of liver regeneration. Constructed wetland systems provide the ideal solution for small and medium dairy farms as they can be built close to the farm and are easy to manage and use. However, their perfomance is significantly affected by vegetation activity during the year. The aims of the present study were to assess the treatment of dairy wastewater (DWW) by a horizontal subsurface flow system (HSSFs) and the effect of plants in the removal efficiency (RE) of BOD5, COD, total N (TN) and total P (TP), in Sicily (Italy).
