Business model innovation can be a key driver to realizing the transformation needed to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). At the same time, the SDGs can support organizations as they identify and tackle opportunities for business model innovation. This chapter will illustrate how an “outside-in” view of policy making may implement a balanced perspective for assessing sustainable outcomes through an integrated Dynamic Performance Management and Governance framework. In the next sections such a framework will be illustrated and applied to different examples of collaborative networks. Using simulation to analyze renewables penetration in Brazil

In the new global economy, renewable energy has become a central issue for the competitive. Renewables are the main source of the Brazilian electricity generation sector. This article analyzes the vulnerabilities of hydropower generation and wind power penetration in Brazil. The study presents the results obtained from preliminary analyses of renewable energy’s market penetration in Brazil. Simulation results show the climate variation effects on hydroelectricity generation as well as wind power penetration.

This paper frames the potential benefits of ‘lean’ and dynamic performance management (PM) systems for small and micro enterprises.
