La società Poste Italiane deve costituire un patrimonio destinato alle attività di Bancoposta per le finalità di vigilanza prudenziale. Inoltre, l’incumbent nel settore postale può acquisire il controllo d’imprese bancarie al fine di rendere operativa l’istituzione della Banca del Mezzogiorno. Queste misure hanno due implicazioni. Vi è anzitutto il perfezionamento delle “credenziali” di Poste Italiane come operatore creditizio e finanziario. In secondo luogo, lo Stato chiede che il capitale e gli altri mezzi di questa impresa pubblica divengano strumento per la realizzazione di un progetto di politica economica.

This chapter lists five works by scholars belonging to different fields history, economics, language and translation studies. About fifty scholars from all over the world, interested in studying the international reception of Smithian thought, took part in the meeting at Palermo to share their ideas, methods, sources and knowledge.
