Prevalence of rapid weight loss in Olympic style wrestlers

Background: The methodology applied for rapid weight loss (RWL) among elite wrestlers is quite unexplored. Therefore, the aim of this study was to analyze the prevalence of sources of influence and methods used for RWL and to determine the differences between wrestling styles. Methods: A total of 229 wrestlers who competed at the World Championship held in Belgrade, Serbia, participated in this research. All respondents completed a questionnaire designed to evaluate RWL patterns in combat athletes. Participants were classified according to wrestling style: Greco-Roman, freestyle, and women wrestling. En este trabajo, los autores verifican si, entre 1977 y 2008, ha habido un aumento de la democracia interna en los principales partidos políticos españoles. Para ello, analizan el proceso de selección del líder, al tiempo que cuestionan si ha habido un incremento de la igualdad en la participación para elegirlo, favoreciendo sistemas representativos o de elección directa. Sabrūkot Padomju Savienībai, Latvijas Republika atguva savu valstisko neatkarību. Mainoties valsts pārvaldes struktūrām, atvērts paliek jautājums par to, cik ļoti lielā mērā mainās personas, kas aizpilda amatu šajās pārvaldes struktūrās. Darbā tiek pētīta LR jaunās politiskās elites biogrāfija 1985., 1990. un 1995.gadā. Apkopotie jaunās elites biogrāfiskie dati tiek analizēti pēc elites cirkulācijas un elites reprodukcijas teorijām. Pēc analīzes veikšanas četros biogrāfiskajos aspektos, tiek secināts, ka Latvijā pēc pārejas izveidojusies jaunā politiskā elite, ir veidojusies vairāk elites cirkulācijas ceļā.
