A substantial body of research has shown worse health conditions for East- vs. West-Germany in the wake of reunification. In the present study, we investigate how these differences between the two formerly divided regions developed and what maintains them. Specifically, we consider the associations between health status, income satisfaction, and health-related locus of control. In a quasi-experimental and longitudinal study design, we are particularly interested in the differences between individuals who stayed in East-Germany and those who were born in the East but migrated to West-Germany. The aim of this study was to describe the baseline level and the change in muscular fitness between the first and the second years of the Air Force Academy among fighter pilot cadets. Objective: The Norwegian National Action Plan for a Healthier Diet calls for discussion of new ways to communicate health information. An already established and important arena in which to do so is school, in the Food and Health (FH) subject in particular. The aim of this study was to investigate how Norwegian students experience the FH subject, and how they believe it impacts on their everyday lives. OBJECTIVE Translation and cross-cultural adaptation to the Spanish context of the Place Standard tool to undertake participatory evaluations in place-based communities. METHOD A back-translation method was used to obtain an adapted version of the original Place Standard tool. The translated version was reviewed by a multidisciplinary committee of experts and validated using the Delphi method. RESULTS The final version of the adapted Place Standards tool (Entornos de Vida in Spanish) consists of 14 dimensions and 99 items. 21% of the items presented semantic difficulties during the translation. Resumen Objetivo: Describir los resultados de la aplicación del European Quality Instrument for Health Promotion (EQUIHP) en el Programa MIH salud y la percepción de su utilidad por el equipo ejecutor de este. Método: Estudio de evaluación aplicando EQUIHP a un programa de promoción de la salud. Autocumplimentación de EQUIHP por ocho mujeres y dos hombres del equipo MIH salud, y realización de dos entrevistas grupales con este equipo sobre la percepción de su utilidad. Resultados: El programa ha obtenido una puntuación global de calidad de 6,5 sobre 10.
