In this paper we present the theoretical foundations and the simulation results obtained with a new dynamic general equilibrium model developed at the Banco de España for the Spanish economy and the rest of Euro area. The model is designed to help in simulating the effect of alternative shocks on the main aggregate variables. The photophysical and DNA-binding properties of the cationic zinc(II) complex of 5-triethylammonium methyl salicylidene ortho-phenylenediiminato (ZnL 2 + ) were investi- gated by a combination of experimental and theoretical methods. DFT calculations were performed on both the ground and the first excited states of ZnL 2 + and on its possi- ble mono- and dioxidation products, both in vacuo and in selected solvents mimicked by the polarizable continuum model. The Topological Treatment of mixtures is applied to several kinds of binary mixtures to obtain VLE diagrams. The excess Gibbs free energy, gE, is calculated as the product of a topological vector and an information vector. The pure compound topological description were obtained following the DARC system rules. A weighting function was introduced to obtain the topological description of a mixture. The information vector is calculated from experimental data. It is shown that for binary mixtures alcohol-alkane, the components of this vector varies linearly with the average number of carbon atoms of chemical compounds. This chapter starts with a summary of the thermodynamic potentials and the relationships between them which are obtained from Legendre transformation. This is followed by an excursion to some important global properties of materials such as specific heat, expansion coefficients and others. The thermodynamic relations provide the basis for a discussion of continuous changes of state which are illustrated by the Joule-Thomson effect and the Van der Waals gas. Recent multi-armed bandit based optimization schemes provide near-optimal balancing of arm exploration against arm exploitation, allowing the optimal arm to be identified with probability arbitrarily close to unity. However, the convergence speed drops dramatically as the number of bandit arms grows large, simply because singling out the optimal arm requires experimentation with all of the available arms. We study a dynamical model for an ecological network of many interacting species. We consider a Malthus-Verhulst type of self-regulation mechanism. In the framework of the mean field theory we study the nonlinear relaxation in three different cases: (a) towards the equilibrium state, (b) towards the absorbing barrier, (c) at the critical point. We obtain asymptotic behavior in all different cases for the time average of the process. This article outlines a procedure that was used to develop a written test for evaluating the conceptual knowledge of chemical equilibrium constant among university students. The concepts in the subject matter were carefully defined through propositional statements. Students' understanding of the topic was determined through interviews. These data were used to produce nine multiple choice questions. Each question was designed to identify misconceptions related to the chemical equilibrium constant.
