A Multidimensional Ethics Scale for Indian Managers' Moral Decision Making
2010
This paper analyses the role of traditional moral theories in managers’ moral decision making using the multidimensional ethics scale (MES) developed and refined by Reidenbach and Robin (1988, 1990). This study extends their work by examining the applicability of the scale to subjects from India, other than the country in which the scale was developed. The research question is: what kind of ethical dimensions do Indian managers reveal when they are making moral decisions. Factor analysis is done to investigate the role of five moral philosophies (justice, deontology, relativism, utilitarianism, and egoism) in their ethical decision-making. The results show that the scale holds for the diffe…
Conceptualizing ecosystem tipping points within a physiological framework
2017
Connecting the nonlinear and often counterintuitive physiological effects of multiple environmental drivers to the emergent impacts on ecosystems is a fundamental challenge. Unfortunately, the disconnect between the way “stressors” (e.g., warming) is considered in organismal (physiological) and ecological (community) contexts continues to hamper progress. Environmental drivers typically elicit biphasic physiological responses, where performance declines at levels above and below some optimum. It is also well understood that species exhibit highly variable response surfaces to these changes so that the optimum level of any environmental driver can vary among interacting species. Thus, specie…
Społeczne funkcje instytucji kultury - miejsce muzeum w społeczności lokalnej
2018
Efekty …
Effects of responsible human resource management practices on female employees’ turnover intentions
2017
This study focuses on the effects of socially responsible human resource management (SR-HRM) practices on female employees’ turnover intentions and the moderating effect of supervisor gender on this relationship. With a sample of 212 female employees from eight different industries in Finland, the results indicate that SR-HRM practices promoting equal career opportunities and work–family integration play a significant role in reducing women's turnover intentions. The study adds to the academic discourse of corporate social responsibility by highlighting the impact of the organizational-level HRM determinants on the individual-level outcome. In addition, supervisor gender makes a difference …
Cuidado y responsabilidad: de Hans Jonas a Carol Gilligan
2019
Pelaaja on pelaajalle susi : kriittinen analyysi DayZ:n vallitsevasta pelitavasta
2015

Umani e animali nell’antropologia socioculturale contemporanea
2022
In the chapter, I show the connection between the ways in which the nineteenth-twentieth century sociocultural anthropologists became interested in the study of human-animal relationships and the dominant conceptions about the relationship between humanity and animality in philosophical and scientific thought of these two centuries. Till the last part of the twentieth century non-human animals were considered by anthropologists mainly as material and/or symbolic resources for the reproduction of humans and their social orders. This view paralleled the dominant vision in Western modern philosophical and scientific thought in which non-human animals were assimilated to mindless machines belon…
