The objective was to collect the available evidence on oxidative stress marker measurements in periodontal patients, focusing specifically on 8-hydroxy-2′-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) as a salivary marker of periodontal disease, and to perform meta-analyses to calculate differences in concentration compared to healthy persons. Objective: To evaluate the effect of the endodontic sealer Epiphany on rat peritoneal macrophages viability. Materials and methods: Peritoneal macrophages were obtained from Wistar rats and resuspended in RPMI- 1640 medium. Undiluted (crude extract) and diluted extracts to 10%, 1%, 0.1%, 0.01%, 0.001% and 0.0001% of Epiphany, AH 26 and AH Plus sealers on RPMI-1640 medium were tested for cytotoxicity to rat peritoneal macrophages using the trypan blue dye exclusion assay. La crisis actual ha creado un colectivo específico de personas en riesgo de caer en la exclusión social. Básicamente se trata de jóvenes e inmigrantes. En ambos casos se agrava cuando coincide con escasa formación y cargas familiares. Su futuro es más que incierto y cabe predecir que la sociedad tardará en encontrarles acomodo pues ni el actual modelo productivo, ni el que pueda sustituirlo, van a generar empleo para esos perfiles. Pero es que tampoco el actual modelo de protección social, lento en sus reacciones y sesgado en favor de currícula laborales estables y continuados, les dará cobertura suficiente.
