The availability of experimental information on solid distribution inside stirred tanks is a topic of great importance in several industrial applications. The measurement of solid particle distribution in turbulent multiphase flow is not simple and the development of suitable measurement techniques is still in progress. In this work a novel non-intrusive technique for measuring particle concentration fields in solid-liquid systems is employed. The technique makes use of a laser sheet, a high sensitivity digital camera for image acquisition and a Matlab procedure for post-processing the acquired images. Language reality and linguistics. The author considers the ąuestion of the boundaries of language and linguistics, referring to the so-called full scientific theory. In the complex hierarchical-network structure of this theory, one can distinguish three levels: the philosophical basis, the theoretical-methodological level, and the empirical part. Tematem mojego artykułu jest problem używek przedstawiony w Matce Stanisława Ignacego Witkiewicza. Nadużywanie alkoholu i narkotyków, służące złagodzeniu bólu istnienia to - w kontekście omawianego utworu - zagłuszanie metafizycznych lęków nie tylko prezentowanych w nim postaci, ale także samego autora. Na przykładzie inscenizacji Jerzego Jarockiego z Teatru Starego w Krakowie opisuję złożoność relacji postaci, które dławiąc się własnym cierpieniem, popadają w nałogi. Zarówno dramat, jak i jego teatralna konkretyzacja stanowią laboratorium udręki wzajemnego bytowania, studium destrukcyjnej siły rodzinnych związków. Tutaj wszystko może się zdarzyć i na pewno będzie na „nie".

The fundamental transformations of contemporary world, which have encompassed also science and language reality, have posed a peculiar challenge to linguistics. A relevant linguistics-founded response ought to be an increased interest in all ways of language existence (concrete communication acts and their products in the form of texts, a system language, individual language awareness and collective language consciousness) as well as their interactions. Its effect should be, besides many new empirical concepts, a fuller synthesizing theory.

The essay questions the relationship between prassi and techne in today's fully-tech society. The analysis moves from the aristotelian distinction between the various epistemai and continues through the comparison with the heideggerian idea of the root of knowing in the effectivity of existence, and with the gadameric perspective that highlights the similarities and differences between techne and praxis by bringing out at the same time the peculiarities of an irreducible knowledge of the technique.
