COX-2 expression in chondrosarcoma: A role for celecoxib treatment?

Chondrosarcomas are resistant to conventional chemo- and radiotherapy. A subset of chondrosarcomas arises secondarily in the benign tumour syndromes enchondromatosis (EC) and multiple osteochondromas (MO), and prevention of tumour development would greatly improve prognosis. We therefore investigated the effect of selective COX-2 inhibition on chondrosarcoma growth. COX-2 expression was studied in central- and peripheral cartilaginous tumours. The effect of COX-2 inhibition was assessed in four high-grade chondrosarcoma cell lines using celecoxib and NS-398 treatment. L’habitat mobile connaît un nouvel essor aujourd’hui. Pourtant, le droit peine à s’adapter, encore trop rivé à la figure traditionnelle du logement sédentaire et en dur. Résultat : les habitants mobiles affrontent de nombreux obstacles juridiques à l’heure actuelle, qu’il s’agisse du régime locatif applicable à leur bien, de l’installation sur un terrain, de l’inscription dans les registres de la population de la commune ou encore de la protection du logement familial (quand il ne s’agit pas, plus en amont, d’un déficit de reconnaissance normative). TERAPIA CON STATINE IN PAZIENTI SICILIANI AFFETTI DA IPERLIPIDEMIA FAMILIARE COMBINATA

Familial combined hyperlipidemia (FCHL) is the most frequent genetic hyperlipidemia. FHCL is associated with high prevalence of cardiovascular disease. In this study we selected 208 patients affected by FHCL and evaluated the efficacy of the lipid-lowering statin therapy using different statins available in the market. The results show that the percent of patients reaching the therapeutic goal ranges from 19.7 % (LDL-C <100 mg/dL) to 50.9% (LDL-C <130 mg/dL) and from 16.9 % (non HDL-C <130 mg/dL) to 46.6 % (non HDL-C <160 mg/dL) according to the different ATPIII-NCEP-guidelines cut offs. In conclusion the statin monotherapy is only partly effective in the management of FCHL therapy
