Ulam Stability for the Composition of Operators
2020
Working in the setting of Banach spaces, we give a simpler proof of a result concerning the Ulam stability of the composition of operators. Several applications are provided. Then, we give an example of a discrete semigroup with Ulam unstable members and an example of Ulam stable operators on a Banach space, such that their sum is not Ulam stable. Another example is concerned with a C 0 -semigroup ( T t ) t &ge
IV. An Improved Separation Method for Twenty two Compounds Related to Purine and 6-Thiopurine Metabolism Using High-Pressure Liquid Cation-Exchange C…
1977
Abstract An improved method is described for the separation of 22 compounds normally related to purine and 6-thiopurine metabolism in biological materials using high-pressure liquid cation-exchange chromatography on strongly acidic exchange resin. The column (0.18 × 100 cm) is eluted with 0.4 ᴍ ammonium formate, pH 4.6, at a linear flow velocity of 5.2 cm · min-1 at 50 °C. The elution volumes of sulphate anions, allopurinol, 6-thioxanthine, adenine, adenosine, and guanosine are demonstrated additionally to further 16 purine and 6-thiopurine compounds.

X-Ray and NMR Studies on Host-Guest Inclusion Complex Formation between Crown Ethers and Pyridinium Compounds
1998
Aromatic–aromatic, π–π, and cation–π interactions can be exploited in the preparation of molecular complexes between benzene-substituted crown ethers and pyridium cations. These complexes have been studied in the gas phase, in solution, and in the solid state; the structure of one of the complexes is depicted on the right.
La formation d'enseignants universitaires nouvellement recrutés : quelles retombées ?
2015
Today the training of teachers in higher education has become a crucial issue. For this reason many higher education institutions are working on implementing faculty development programmes for their teachers. The current research was conducted around these issues. Our article presents the results of a research inquirying into the impact of participating in a educational development programme in 2013-2014 for newly appointed teachers in aFrench university specialised in sciences and technological sciences. This exploratory research examined two components: a) conceptions of teaching and learning of newly appointed teachers and b) their teaching practices. The results show that taking part in…

RabbitQC: high-speed scalable quality control for sequencing data
2019
Abstract Motivation Modern sequencing technologies continue to revolutionize many areas of biology and medicine. Since the generated datasets are error-prone, downstream applications usually require quality control methods to pre-process FASTQ files. However, existing tools for this task are currently not able to fully exploit the capabilities of computing platforms leading to slow runtimes. Results We present RabbitQC, an extremely fast integrated quality control tool for FASTQ files, which can take full advantage of modern hardware. It includes a variety of operations and supports different sequencing technologies (Illumina, Oxford Nanopore and PacBio). RabbitQC achieves speedups between …
Nonlinear dynamics of semiflexible magnetic filaments in an ac magnetic field
2006
Flexible spontaneously magnetized filaments exist in the living world (magnetotactic bacteria) and arise in magnetic colloids with large magnetodipolar interaction parameter. We demonstrate that these filaments possess variety of novel nonlinear phenomena in an ac magnetic field: orientation of the filament in the direction perpendicular to the field and the development of the oscillating U-like shapes, which presumably can lead to the formation of rings of magnetic filaments. It is found that these phenomena are determined by the development of the localized boundary modes of the filament deformation. We have illustrated by qualitative estimates that the phenomena found may be useful for i…
Single-input perturbative control of a quantum symmetric rotor
2022
We consider the Schr\"odinger partial differential equation of a rotating symmetric rigid molecule (symmetric rotor) driven by a z-linearly polarized electric field, as prototype of degenerate infinite-dimensional bilinear control system. By introducing an abstract perturbative criterium, we classify its simultaneous approximate controllability; based on this insight, we numerically perform an orientational selective transfer of rotational population.
Association of N-(Pyridin-2-yl),N′-substituted Ureas with 2-Amino-1,8-naphthyridines and Benzoates: NMR and Quantum Chemical Studies of the Substitue…
2013
Association of four N-(pyridin-2-yl),N'-R(1)-ureas (R(1) = ethyl, n-butyl, phenyl, and tert-butyl) with substituted 2-amino-1,8-naphthyridines and benzoates were studied by (1)H NMR spectroscopic titrations and quantum chemical calculations. The benzoates and 2-amino-1,8-naphthyridines were selected as representatives of double and triple hydrogen bonding counterparts, respectively. The classical substituent effect on the association was studied. A prerequisite and a crucial step for the complex formation was the breaking of the intramolecular hydrogen bond in urea derivatives. The QTAIM calculation method was employed to explain the hydrogen bonding within complexes. In the case of benzoat…
