We used a Virtual Reality (VR) version of the Multiple Errand Test (MET) inside a virtual supermarket, in order to evaluate the executive functions in daily life in 10 OCD patients and 10 controls. This paper aims to examine the basic functions performed by banks. It is argued that financial crisis has altered the traditional economics of banking in an important way. A key element of our paper is the use of a functional perspective to study the economics of banking. It is applicable at several levels of analysis: systems, institutions, activities, and products. The application of the functional perspective at the level of financial institutions is particularly useful because the functions are more stable than activities and products.

A seismic gap can be defined as a segment of an active geologic fault that has not produced seismic events for an unusually long time; gaps are often considered susceptible to future strong earthquakes occurrence and therefore their identification may be useful for predictive purposes. In this paper we try to identify gaps in an area of South Tyrrhenian Sea by comparing the observed seismicity, estimated by nonparametric method, and the theoretical one, described by a particular space-time point process (ETAS model).

It is practiced for three main reasons: ritual or religious meanings, prophylactic hygienic purposes, and therapeutic indications.
