Monolacunary Keggin polyoxometalates connected to ten 4d or 4f metal atoms.
2013
The rational self-assembly of mono-lacunary Keggin clusters with 4d and 4f metal salts via a conventional method has yielded two novel polyoxometalate-based 4d-4f heterometallic compounds containing lacunary Keggin anions connected to ten metal atoms: {[Ag{Ag2(H2O)4}{Ln(H2O)6}2H ⊂ {SiW11Ln(H2O)4O39}2]·nH2O (Ln = Ce and n = 7 for 1, Ln = Pr and n = 3 for 2). Their structures were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses and further characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectra, and thermogravimetric (TG) analyses. A structural feature in 1 and 2 is that each [SiW11O39](8-) cluster (SiW11) is connected to ten metals (five Ag(+) and five Ln(3+) cations), representing the highe…

Mono- and dilithium salts of [3,3'-Co(1,2-C(2)B(9)H(11))(2)](-), (1(-)), react with different chlorosilanes (Me(2)SiHCl, Me(2)SiCl(2), Me(3)SiCl and MeSiHCl(2)) with an accurate control of the temperature to give a set of novel C(c)-mono- (C(c) = C(cluster)) and C(c)-disubstituted cobaltabis(dicarbollide) derivatives with silyl functions: [1-SiMe(2)H-3,3'-Co(1,2-C(2)B(9)H(10))(1',2'-C(2)B(9)H(11))](-) (3(-)); [1,1'-mu-SiMe(2)-3,3'-Co(1,2-C(2)B(9)H(10))(2)](-) (4(-)); [1,1'-mu-SiMeH-3,3'-Co(1,2-C(2)B(9)H(10))(2)](-) (5(-)); [1-SiMe(3)-3,3'-Co(1,2-C(2)B(9)H(10))(1',2'-C(2)B(9)H(11))](-) (6(-)) and [1,1'-(SiMe(3))(2)-3,3'-Co(1,2-C(2)B(9)H(10))(2)](-) (7(-)). In a similar way, the [8,8'-mu-(1''…
Incidence of DAA failure and the clinical impact of retreatment in real-life patients treated in the advanced stage of liver disease: Interim evaluat…
2017
Background: Few data are available on the virological and clinical outcomes of advanced liver disease patients retreated after first-line DAA failure. Aim: To evaluate DAA failure incidence and the retreatment clinical impact in patients treated in the advanced liver disease stage. Methods: Data on HCV genotype, liver disease severity, and first and second line DAA regimens were prospectively collected in consecutive patients who reached the 12-week post-treatment and retreatment evaluations from January 2015 to December 2016 in 23 of the PITER network centers. Results: Among 3,830 patients with advanced fibrosis (F3) or cirrhosis, 139 (3.6%) failed to achieve SVR. Genotype 3, bilirubin lev…
Delisting of liver transplant candidates with chronic hepatitis C after viral eradication: A European study
2016
Background & Aims: All oral direct acting antivirals (DAA) have been shown to improve the liver function of patients with decompensated cirrhosis but it is presently unknown whether this clinical improvement may lead to the delisting of some patients. The aim of this study was to assess if and which patients can be first inactivated due to clinically improvement and subsequently delisted in a real life setting. Methods: 103 consecutive listed patients without hepatocellular carcinoma were treated with different DAA combinations in 11 European centres between February 2014 and February 2015. Results: The cumulative incidence of inactivated and delisted patients by competing risk analysis…

An assessment of the Beerkan method for determining the hydraulic properties of a sandy loam soil
2014
Abstract Establishing the ability of the Beerkan Estimation of Soil Transfer parameters (BEST) procedure to reproduce soil properties is necessary for specific soil types. In this investigation, the BEST predictions for a sandy loam soil were compared with water retention data obtained by a standard laboratory method and with the saturated soil hydraulic conductivity, K s , obtained by both the Wu et al. (1999) method, applied to the BEST infiltration data, and the Simplified Falling Head (SFH) technique. When the original BEST-slope algorithm with the infiltration constants fixed at β = 1.9 and γ = 0.79 was applied, the agreement between the predicted and the measured retention data was sa…
A test of the Beerkan Estimation of Soil Transfer parameters (BEST) procedure
2014
Abstract The Beerkan Estimation of Soil Transfer parameters (BEST) procedure is attractive for a simple soil hydraulic characterization but testing the ability of this procedure to estimate soil properties is necessary. The BEST predictions were compared with soil water retention and hydraulic conductivity data measured in the laboratory and the field, respectively, at ten Sicilian field sites. Provided that BEST yielded physically possible scale parameters of the soil characteristic curves in most of the four replicated infiltration runs at a site, the measured water retention was satisfactorily predicted (i.e., not statistically significant differences between measurements and predictions…
Dependence of 85Kr(β)-Clearance rCBF Determination on the Input Function
1969
Two procedures have been proposed for the quantitative determination of rCBF by analysis of radioactive inert gas clearance curves, following intra-arterial injection: 1. the slope-method [1], 2. the height-over-area-method [4].
Multidomain spectral method for the Gauss hypergeometric function
2018
International audience; We present a multidomain spectral approach for Fuchsian ordinary differential equations in the particular case of the hypergeometric equation. Our hybrid approach uses Frobenius’ method and Moebius transformations in the vicinity of each of the singular points of the hypergeometric equation, which leads to a natural decomposition of the real axis into domains. In each domain, solutions to the hypergeometric equation are constructed via the well-conditioned ultraspherical spectral method. The solutions are matched at the domain boundaries to lead to a solution which is analytic on the whole compactified real line R∪∞, except for the singular points and cuts of the Rie…
Collision Orbits in the Isosceles Rectilinear Restricted Problem
1995
In the study of the Collinear Three-Body Problem, McGehee (1974) introduced a new set of coordinates which had the effect of blowing up the triple collision singularity. Subsequently, his method has been used to analyze some other collision or singularities. Recently, Wang (1986) introduced another transformation which differs from the McGehee’s coordinates in the fact that the blowing-up factor is now the potential function, U, instead of the moment of inertia, I. Meyer and Wang (1993) have applied this method to the Restricted Isosceles Three-body Problem with positive energy and Cors and Llibre (1994) to the hyperbolic restricted three-body problem. In this paper we study the singulariti…
