Prompt and delayed spectroscopy of 203At : Observation of a shears band and a 29/2+ isomeric state

Using fusion-evaporation reactions, a gas-filled recoil separator, recoil-gating technique and recoil-isomer decay tagging technique we have extended the level scheme of 203 At ( N = 118 ) significantly. We have observed an isomeric [ τ = 14.1 ( 3 ) μ s ] state with a spin and parity of 29 / 2 + . The isomeric state is suggested to originate from the π ( h 9 / 2 ) ⊗ ∣ ∣ 202 Po ; 11 − ⟩ coupling, and it is depopulated through 286 keV E 2 and 366 keV E 3 transitions. In addition, we have observed a cascade of magnetic-dipole transitions which is suggested to be generated by the shears mechanism. peerReviewed

International audience; The palladium-catalyzed direct arylations at C3 or C4 positions of heteroaromatics are known to be more challenging than at C2 or C5 positions. Aryl chlorides are also challenging substrates for direct arylation of heteroaromatics. We observed that in the presence of a palladium-catalyst combining only 0.5 mol % of Pd(OAc)2 with the sterically relieved new ferrocenyl diphosphane Sylphos, the direct arylation at C3 or C4 of oxazoles, a benzofuran, an indole, and a pyrazole was found to proceed in moderate to high yields using a variety of electron deficient aryl chlorides. Ledrappier-Young formula and exact dimensionality of self-affine measures

In this paper, we solve the long standing open problem on exact dimensionality of self-affine measures on the plane. We show that every self-affine measure on the plane is exact dimensional regardless of the choice of the defining iterated function system. In higher dimensions, under certain assumptions, we prove that self-affine and quasi self-affine measures are exact dimensional. In both cases, the measures satisfy the Ledrappier-Young formula. peerReviewed

Colombeau algebras are defined as quotients of spaces containing the representatives of generalized functions given by smooth mappings: R:C∞(Ω,D(Ω))→C∞(Ω), where Ω is an open subset of Rn. In this paper the notion of locality defined by the author for a representative R of a nonlinear generalized function is characterized in such a way that the representative depends only on its ∞-jet. Finally, the author examines the possibility of defining a notion of order for the mapping R.
Existence and classification of critical points for nondifferentiable functions

A general min-max principle established by Ghoussoub is extended to the case of functionals which are the sum of a locally Lipschitz continuous term and of a convex, proper, lower semicontinuous function. Some topological properties of the min-max-generated critical points in such a framework are then pointed out.
