The Rank of Trifocal Grassmann Tensors

Grassmann tensors arise from classical problems of scene reconstruction in computer vision. Trifocal Grassmann tensors, related to three projections from a projective space of dimension k onto view-spaces of varying dimensions are studied in this work. A canonical form for the combined projection matrices is obtained. When the centers of projections satisfy a natural generality assumption, such canonical form gives a closed formula for the rank of the trifocal Grassmann tensors. The Tautological Ring of Spin Moduli Spaces

We introduce the notion of tautological ring for the moduli space of spin curves. Moreover, we study some relations among tautological classes which are motivated by physics. Finally, we show that the Chow rings of these moduli spaces are tautological in low genus.

The stable reduction theorem affirms that given a smooth, projective, geometrically connected curve over K, C/K, with genus \geq 2, there exists a unique finite Galois extension M/K minimal for the inclusion relation such that C_{M}:= C x M has stable reduction over M. Proporzioni delle statue. Analisi e cenni storici

Lo studio e l’analisi della geometria e delle proporzioni del gruppo scultoreo monumentale in onore a Filippo IV, si sono effettuati su due sculture a tuttotondo - facenti parte di un gruppo di otto sculture collocate sulla balaustrata - e su un pannello scultoreo ad altorilievo, uno dei quattro situati sui lati del nucleo centrale, all’apice del quale s’innalza la statua, ora, di Filippo V. Le statue del gruppo scultoreo, disposte in un’armoniosa composizione, presentano elementi tipicamente rinascimentali introdotti in Sicilia dai maestri marmorai e lapicidi nel XVI secolo sino a tutto il primo trentennio del secolo successivo.

Lo studio e l’analisi della geometria e delle proporzioni si sono effettuati su due mezzi-busti marmorei a tuttotondo - che ritraggono Pietro Novelli e Vincenzo Bellini - e sulla stele funeraria realizzata in onore del benedettino Giuliano Majali, situata nella Chiesa di S. Domenico a Palermo. La stele, nel pieno rispetto del linguaggio neoclassico, rispecchia equilibrio e scompostezza, affidandosi alle norme e alle regole. Lo studio della composizione e dei rapporti spaziali della stele ha messo in evidenza come lo scultore risulti padrone della rappresentazione, contenuta nello spazio ridotto del monumento funebre, senza esternare alcuna forma di esasperazione nei gesti e nelle espression…
