Purpose: To evaluate the performance of periscope and/or chimney grafts (CPGs) in the endovascular treatment of pararenal or thoracoabdominal aneurysms using off-the-shelf devices. Methods: Between February 2002 and August 2012, 77 consecutive patients (62 men; mean age 7369 years) suffering from pararenal aortic (n¼55), thoracoabdominal (n¼16), or arch to visceral artery aneurysms (n¼6) were treated with aortic stent-graft implantation requiring chimney and/or periscope grafts to maintain side branch perfusion. Diplomdarba tēma ir „Etnogrāfisko rakstu motīvu izmantošana apdrukas dizainā‖. Diplomdarba mērķis ir, balstoties uz teorētiskajā daļā iegūtajām zināšanām, un pētnieciskajā daļā iegūtajiem rezultātiem, izveidot katalogu ar baltu zīmju ornamentu paraugiem, kuri domāti apdrukas iespējām. Lai veiksmīgi realizētu darba izvirzīto mērķi, tika veikta latviešu un lietuviešu zīmju un rakstu salīdzināšana. Pētījuma rezultātā tika secināts, ka latviešu, lietuviešu zīmēs un rakstos ir daudz līdzību un vienojošu elementu. Šīs līdzības var izmantot veidojot jaunus ornamentu variantus. Ascending thoracic aorta disease is often a life-threatening condition. Aortic aneurysm and aortic dissection are the most frequent ascending aorta diseases requiring surgical intervention. Surgical repair techniques of the ascending aorta are various; they include reconstruction of the ascending aorta by using a graft with or without a prosthetic valve, reconstruction with a composite artificial graft or using a biological graft, and reconstruction of the ascending aorta with a composite graft preserving the native valve and arch repair. This paper analyses the kārbandi of the Hashti pavilion at Bagh-e-Dolat Abad in Yazd. Kārbandi is a spatial system obtained through the projection of a star-shaped drawing onto a curved surface. It is characterised by a complex use of geometry and repetitive symmetry. The analysis of its geometrical aspects contributes to an understanding of the traditional rules underlying the original design. The kārbandi of the octagonal vestibule of the Hashti pavilion consists of a complex roof system that completes the octagonal volume of the room below; its intrados presents a pattern of interlocking ribbed arches. Abstract In-situ generation of a nanodispersed conductive polymer within a polypropylene matrix has been pursued in order to obtain flexible, conductive films. Radiation grafting of acrylic acid to polypropylene (PP) has been applied to insert carboxyl functionalities on PP. The radiation-grafted films have been further derivatized with a variety of diamines and used as substrates for in-situ chemical oxidative polymerization of polyaniline (PANI). PANI grows as a thin skin from the surface of the film as well as an interpenetrated network in its interiors.
