Nonunion and malunion in proximal humerus fractures

Proximal humerus fractures are common injuries and the development of nonunion or malunion is infrequent. However, these complications can occur with both operative and non-operative treatment of the fracture. A complete evaluation of these patients must include an investigation of the original fracture, bone and soft tissue quality as well as an extensive radiological study with X-Ray, CT and MRI. Asymptomatic and low demanding patients can benefit from conservative treatment, otherwise surgery is necessary. Multiple treatment options exist with no consensus upon the gold standard. Background The aim of this study is to evaluate a possible correlation between specific anthropometric parameters and sizes of knee tendons commonly used for ACL reconstruction. We hypothesized that specific clinical and radiological knee measurements could be better tendon sizes predictors than age, gender, height and weight. The medial and lateral collateral ligament complexes represent primary elbow ligament stabilizers. Injury to these structures may occur because of an elbow dislocation or due to a severe varus or valgus force. Most elbow dislocations are stable once reduced and may be treated conservatively. Lai realizētu bakalaura darba mērķi, veikts pētījums, izmantojot kvalitatīvās datu vākšanas metodes – novērošana un intervēšana. Pētījumā iegūtie rezultāti ļauj konstatēt, ka pusaudžu lietotāju grupa norādes uzskata par nepieciešamu bibliotēkas sastāvdaļu un lietotāju paustais viedoklis sniedz idejas un ieteikumus, lai izveidotu lietotājiem draudzīgu bibliotēkas norāžu sistēmu.
